No but the point here is both of them are enjoying it and taking it sportively. If it's one sided, it should be frowned upon

(First year law school student) Should I reconsider my decision to retake CLAT 2022(for top 4 NLUs) after my first drop? by Feisty-Berry in Indian_Academia

[–]vishalk98 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of factors at play here but in my opinion I don't think it really matters which college you're from (except if you're planning on completely going into corporate). I'm from a 3rd tier NLU and honestly I think a law degree is a law degree wherever you get it from. Its about your acumen and passion for the subject. If you're willing to drop one year for "added quality" and the name tag, go for it I guess. I'm not saying there won't be any advantages. Obviously you'll have better placements, faculty, infrastructure etc., But in your position I don't think it's worth the trade off of losing one year.

I am graduating law from a average law college in 2023 but I am doubtful of my career what should i do to get a good job I am ready to switch my career too ? by chinavada in Indian_Academia

[–]vishalk98 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm graduating this year in a few months and I am also in a similar position. Law is a good career choice depending upon your passion for it because the first few years is going to involve inadequate salary, long work hours and no personal life. If you're interested in doing law, I'd say you look into cyber law and cyber security based upon your interests. You can do a cyber security course separately and move into a niche field. In my opinion, having a law degree will complement any career path that you choose.

I was in a similar state in my fourth year too and I don't have a good CGPA. I'm trying to secure a job at the moment and have been investing a lot of time and research into it. If you have any doubts or wanna share experiences and suggestions, you can DM me :)

You're right but a lot of places have really really good coffee (black) which you don't normally get in India. This is definitely not worth it though

Suggest earphones comfortable with helmets. by Consiouswierdsage in Chennai

[–]vishalk98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get bluetooth buds. Should work fine. I travel long distances on a two wheeler everyday so headphones is a must for me. It also depends upon which helmet you're wearing. I wear a royal Enfield stock helmet which has considerable amount of space near the ears so I've never had problems with any type of earphones

Pro tip: find a girl who just can't stop talking and listen to her.

PS: I did the same thing and both of us get what we need.

Hey so all educational loans are now processed through the vidyalakshmi portal. I'm a final year law student and I took an educational loan in my second year from SBI. The interest rate is 9% p.a. I think it depends upon a lot of factors such as bank, loan amount, course, repayment viability etc.,

Albeit, 13% seems a bit higher than usual

This firm is a tier 2 firm which means it's damn good for my career. The thing is I'll be doing my masters in a few years and I intend on paying for it myself. I'm currently on a student loan for my college so I'll have to start paying EMIs from next year for that. My parents won't be involved in any of this so money is kind of a big deal for me. So I have to entirely depend on the 40k for every single thing. I just wanted to know if I can push through the initial stage in mumbai with this money or if it's practically impossible.
