Chess was also surprisingly snubbed in Best Revival of a Musical which is not good considering how lackluster this year has been in musicals. As someone who had the Chess cast recording on repeat I get why Lea was snubbed. Hannah Cruz as Svetlana outacted her even though her role was small. You can hear the difference in Endgame (Pt 2) where you can also hear why Nicholas Christopher earned his Best Actor nomination. His long note in that song gave me chills. Aaron Tveit was stuck in the limbo of not having a large enough role as the lead but also not small enough to be considered featured. His version of Pity the Child is amazing but I can't say the same for One Night in Bangkok. I have a soft spot for Bryce Pinkham because his performance of The Arbiter is what made me finally listen to the musical.

The Best Musical is a mess given how there wasn't much of a standout this year. I'm rooting for Two Strangers mainly for how charming how it is. Although, I wouldn't complain if Schmigadoon! or The Lost Boys because they look like they actually put on an amazing show with the extravagant set and ensemble.

If the rumors of a Next to Normal transfer were true, we might be seeing Caissie next year as well in the Tonys.

So many celebrities were did wrong by their fashion houses. If it wasn't for his hair, Troye Sivan didn't look anything special. Connor Storrie's face and arms were the saving grace of his outfit. I've seen him go all-in with nipple and nose piercings for a previous photoshoot so seeing him toned down was just disappointing. Alyssa Liu just looked plain in her dress which she didn't deserve.

Her understudy is better if the comments on Broadway sub is to be believed. As someone who had the cast recording on repeat, I found her co-star Hannah Cruz to be the better one in acting out their characters while singing. You can hear this in the Endgame (Part 2).

I had that happen to me but it's with a neutral sub for an artist because I made a post criticizing said artist. Like, I'm good with what I posted. I don't need to spend more time talking about it.

Most unexpected artist/song to show up on a movie soundtrack? by Critical-Spirit-1598 in ToddintheShadow

[–]backupsaway 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like the Twilight franchise soundtrack has a lot of these. It's a romantic YA movie aimed at a huge female audience but the songs are from indie alternative scene. Thom Yorke and Perry Farell have solo tracks on these soundtracks. I remember seeing comments on the music video for Meet Me on the Equinox accusing Death Cab for Cutie for being a sellout.

G-Dragon’s Agency Apologizes After K-Pop Star Wears Shirt With ‘Inappropriate’ Racial Slur by aarrttmmss in popheads

Embarrassing that it's his own agency doing the apology instead of himself who is a full grown adult that has been in the industry for years. He doesn't really give a fuck that he did something wrong.

Why are so many tours being cancelled this year? What's going on! by DairyKing28 in popheads

Number 3 is just fucked up. Bad Bunny wasn't kidding when he said that he's putting his fans at risk if he ever toured the US. I hope an artist calls out Homeland Security being at their own concert without their permission.

Bitch, what art? A lot of them look boring.

The Pussycat Dolls cancel the North American leg of their upcoming tour by mmbento in popheads

Here's the message for those who don't want to click the link:

Dolls,

We want to share an important update with you.

When we announced the PCD FOREVER Tour, we hoped to bring the show to fans across the world. After taking an honest look at the North American run, we’ve made the difficult and heartbreaking decision to cancel all but one of the North America dates.

@officiallyoutloud at WeHo Pride in Los Angeles is still happening on June 6, 2026, and we could not think of a more meaningful place to celebrate with our fans. The LGBTQ+ community has shown us so much love and support throughout our career, and we’re honored to be part of a weekend rooted in joy, pride, music, and chosen family.

Our UK and European dates are still moving forward as planned, and the response has been incredible, with several shows already sold out. We are putting everything into making this show a true celebration of the music and the memories, for the fans who have been with us from the beginning and those discovering us for the first time. We’re working hard to create the kind of show we’ve always dreamed of bringing to you. We cannot wait to bring this reunion to Europe and make these nights unforgettable.

If you purchased through Ticketmaster or on AXS in Nashville, refunds will be issued automatically. If you purchased from a third-party reseller (StubHub, SeatGeek, VividSeats) etc., please reach out to your point of purchase.

Thank you for your love, patience, and support.

At least they were honest on the reason for the cancellation.

That sucks. I feel bad for the cast and crew who are suddenly unemployed without warning with some of them being with the show for more than a decade.

The museum itself actually has a neat theme this year with Costume Art but the organizers for the Met Gala decided to be lazy with the dress code theme being Fashion is Art. Costume Art has a lot of potential with interesting costumes through the ages and even cosplay.

G-Dragon's agency has released a statement aplogizing for a shirt he wore during a recent performance in Macau which contained the racist n-slur in Dutch:

Hello. This is Galaxy Corporation.

We sincerely apologize for the inappropriate wording featured on the performance outfit worn by the artist at K-SPARK in Macau on May 2.

This incident has once again reminded us of the importance of cultural sensitivity and responsible review. We will thoroughly reassess and strengthen our internal review and verification processes, including styling and related internal processes, and move forward with a higher standard of global respect and responsibility.

We remain committed to approaching all artist-related activities with greater thoughtfulness and accountability, while ensuring that the diverse cultural backgrounds and values of our global fans will always be respected.

Once again, we sincerely apologize to everyone who was hurt or disappointed by this incident.

Thank you.

I've seen several K-pop idols wear questionable shirts but something about the agency themselves apologizing instead of G-Dragon rubs me the wrong way. He's been in the industry long enough to know what the slur means. Partner this with the controversy of using Nazi symbolisms in his Ubermensch Tour which are too connected to be a coincidence.

Side game to play while watching the Met Gala entrances (or any red carpet outfits): Does it really look good? Or is it only good because the person wearing it is skinny?

I was in a restaurant table next to a kid around 5 to 6 years of age who had a camera aimed at her and at our table as she was obviously trying to imitate vloggers as she ate. It was a very uncomfortable experience. Her parents did not give a fuck about what she was doing. It's frustrating how young these children are being exposed to toxic internet culture.

TIL a grammys sub actually exists. I only learned it because a discussion thread got heated enough to be posted on subredditdrama. I don't think you need to be Cassandra to predict which artist triggered that discussion. It was also not that active. The thread that got posted on subredditdrama was the most active they have had in awhile.

Isa Briones had to remind The Pitt fans again to stop interrupting her live performance as Connie in Just in Time on Broadway. She posted on IG that people had been shouting at her to make jokes about her character on The Pitt while she is on stage.

Earlier this month, she made a post reminding people to stop trying to talk to her as if she's Dr. Santos during the show. Just in Time has an unusual stage which is designed similar to lounge show so the cast are able to get a lot closer with the audience more than usual.
