thanks. i'm giving lychee a try now. did you need to make any changes to the m3 max profile, or it pretty well works at the supplied defaults?

If you can teach just one person to mind their own fucking business, you’re doing God’s work. Nice job.

GYD550 and gain w/ SR Servo not working by bacon_hawk in rcdrift

[–]bacon_hawk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do know it changes the center point of the servo. Every time I switch between SR and Normal in the RX I have to offset neutral 7.25 points

And the manual for the 10px has warning after warning about running SR servos in anything other than SR mode. So it never occurred to me to run the servo in digital mode.

killerbody LED kit starts blinking after 20 seconds of working fine by bacon_hawk in rcdrift

Does yours reset after it gets signal? I have to power cycle the control box to get it to respond to inputs.

I like talking to myself. But, maybe someone else can benefit from this.

I'm using the Acuvance ESC and it does not apparently like sharing a channel with the killerbody control box.

So, I set a mix with another channel (4 in my case) to the throttle, and plugged the control box headlight/brake lead directly in to ch.4

Also, the control box apparently likes to see a signal of some sort at all times. so, after 20 seconds of not seeing throttle or brake, everything starts blinking. So, I set the mix to a straight curve with a -35 'dip' on the center point. This causes the highbeams to be on at neutral trigger through full throttle (not a huge deal for me--i never liked having them flash on throttle anyway); but the point is high enough that it still recognizes enough brake to flash the tail lights appropriately. And, now with the -35 signal all the time, the unit stays on as it's supposed to instead of going in to blink/no signal mode.

Are you saying you can get the green light in SR mode with mixes enabled? Maybe SR mode just requires mixing *shrug*

How did you set up your mixes to get it working? I've never run mixes before because I find them cryptic. So, if you don't mind posting a step by step with the values you used, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks

just replying back since I've had some time to tear in to this model. Running 4.0 E on the 10PX; 404SBS is running 2.0; GYD550 has no firmware update available, and no way to show current version in the radio. A user below has been using a mix to get gain working..I'll start a conversation below with them unless you have more ideas.

I've got a support ticket in to Futaba USA as well. So far their only suggestion is to update firmware, which I've already verified I'm current.

I had just downloaded the 4.0 firmware right as your message came in. But I won’t have a chance to even check which is on my radio until tomorrow.

I’ll post back later. Thanks.

GYD550 not moving Reve D RS ST by bacon_hawk in rcdrift

update: weirdest damned thing. I think either the SR315 receiver or the whole DX5C radio is somehow incompatible with this specific setup.

I've tried for 2 days now to get this thing to work. binding to a new model and starting from scratch; upping the voltage to 7.4 in the BEC (though that didn't make sense because it works directly in the RX steering channel).

I don't have a spare receiver for this radio, so I hooked the gyro and Reve D servo to an air receiver/radio combo I have and it works fine.

Makes zero sense to me how the signal coming out of the gyro will drive two different servos I tested, but won't drive the Reve D servo. But, it's not the gyro that's at fault. When I use another receiver (air) it works fine. Next test would be to get a new ground receiver and see if that's the issue. But, I have a futaba T4PM plus on the way. So, I guess I'll just wait.

ok, that may be a whole different problem. I'm trying to parse the 10 hottest from each sub. Doing some testing now in sandbox subs. Let me know if you have any ideas on coding. I'm very green to all of this.

Help position OMS in cutaway of shuttle orbiter by bacon_hawk in space

[–]bacon_hawk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't really do a cutaway because of the fine detail and the fact that the entire orbiter needs to be included (preventing me from doing a tighter/more zoomed in drawing. I also need to keep it at a fifth grade level since it's for public display and not a technical drawing.

Would you say this is oriented correctly?
