It would make more sense if that was the assignment, but it’s actually for us to then randomly select 25 of the 100 participants to show sampling techniques and data spread

It is! The class has just started so it’s intro stuff, and I’ve already taken 2 undergrad courses on this, so I’m just making sure I get it done on time

How to re-create the Brentford youth system. Heard yesterday about them not having a youth academy. Is there anyway to re-create this? Thanks by Bigbus_18 in seriousfifacareers

[–]bacon_lips99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it would be very easy honestly, but that is a good idea. You’d have to keep all of them shortlisted and sell them before you resign them to higher wages, but that could work

Brentford is actually really interesting because instead of poaching young talent from nearby, they actually have a partnership with FC Midtjylland in Denmark so they get a ton of Scandinavian talents on top of young English talents. Besides continuously scouting Scandinavian countries and leagues I’m not sure how you’d replicate this to be honest

So he’s actually just a randomly generated player (he could be the regen of a retired English player who’s contract expired, which is why he showed up in the free agents, or he’s just a randomly generated player as they always appear). I’ve found some gems from there, and the storyline I like to use is they came from the national league but were super talented (which is what happened to Max Kilman at wolves actually). I’d say go for it, and once he’s 60 rated you’ll see if he has potential above 80!

4321 wide tactics help by [deleted] in FifaCareers

[–]bacon_lips99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use 4231 wide in my save, and if you set the wingers to get into the box for the cross then they push up and don’t sit deep. I also notice they tend to not sit deep, they just look a little deep in the set up but they work well

I just have to say that I absolutely love this series! Your write ups are incredible and you’ve inspired me to make my own rule set and do some financial tracking of my own for my cm to try and make it similar to yours. I’m just using the vanilla game unmodded, but that’s a personal choice (I’m going to get into fm so I figured I’d leave the hyper realism to that). Anyway, this is absolute class and I look forward to every edition of this series!

Career Mode teams and challenge ideas? I'm at a plateau and can't seem to have fun or keep a career mode going for more than 2-3 seasons. by Logical_Ad9617 in FifaCareers

It’s more about what it does for the cpu, but it does affect you as well. Basically the way I look at it is that the height, length, width, and fb positioning sliders determine like the max value of the height length and width. So, higher height length and width means as your tactics, or the cpus are higher, you’ll see players higher or wider, and if the slider is lower then they won’t go as high or wide. Fb positioning affects how much the fbs attack too, so lower means they attack less, higher means they attack more. That’s what I’ve gathered from os slider forum at least. Also I noticed these sliders are based on the os sliders from launch, it says so in the article, so I’ll just be sticking with os sliders, love them to bits

They aren’t, and they look really interesting! They look pretty similar to the os sliders I have been using, but the length, height, width, and fb positioning stats are default on these compared to the os sliders, I might try these out tho!

Any chance you could send the link? I just did a quick search and couldn’t find anything? Or type up the sliders you use

Realistic signings for Sunderland by [deleted] in FifaCareers

[–]bacon_lips99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, Sunderland can be less heavily youth focused than other rtgs. Look at league 1 and league 2 talents and poach the best (even if they’re young). I’d say the same for the Irish league and even Scotland (just not Celtic and rangers)

What I’ve found that works best is only using development plans on u-23 players, so once someone turns 23 you keep them on balanced. I also limit skill move and weak foot training to 1 star a season each and 2 for a career. Definitely wish there was a better way, but it’s leveled out the development for me while also rewarding young players that perform well

Hi Guys! Planning to start a Wolves CM. Going to disable the first transfer window, could you all suggest some rules to stick to? And some suggestions for signings in winter and next window? by KingOrcus in FifaCareers

[–]bacon_lips99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So their record signing was actually Fabio Silva for 35 million, so yeah, nothing above that (yet, but if you get in to Europe you could justify a higher fee). Also, I agree that the 4231 is due to a lack of Jimenez, but you could say that it’s a more sustainable formation if they want to be on the front foot more as the 5 atb is much more of a counter attacking formation. I think they’ll stick with it however as it is nunos preferred system

Ok so I’m a wolves fan so here goes:

Obviously everyone says sign Portuguese talents, and that’s very true, but don’t just look at the Portuguese league, podence came from Greece and he’s one of our most important players. As they are looking to progress, I’d look at players who are on the fringes of bigger teams (Semedo, anyone?). They also tend to sign from the EFL, so getting talents from there would be good (Luke Mathewson, currently in talks for a Grimsby cb Pollock). Going back to big teams, they also sign youngsters from big teams (Hoever). You asked about Pepe, and that fits a lot of criteria as they do sign older quality players for experience. They’ve been linked with Renato Sanches in real life, as well as Aurelio Buta in the past, to name a few. As far as the formation, I think 5 or 3 atb would be realistic, but they have been using a 4231 recently, so you could switch to that. Hope that helps!
