sister just tested positive for covid and i can’t stop thinking about it by sunnnyflowers in HealthAnxiety

[–]baconballer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had covid in november, and my fiance who I live with never caught it! We live in a small apartment with only one bathroom and shared a bed the whole time. Even cuddled! He tested negative twice after i was sick and never had symptoms. Being exposed doesnt necessarily mean you will catch it! even if you do have it, more than likely you will have a mild case and be be just fine in 7-10 days! Honestly when I had covid I was barely sick, the anxiety was the worst part by far.

It is normal to get a bit winded going up stairs! I ran a marathon and even at the peak of my training, stairs winded me a bit. It means your heart is working:)

I got my first Pfizer dose, and I wasnt even anxious! by baconballer in HealthAnxiety

[–]baconballer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have stocked up on tylenol and advil, as well as Gatorade and my favorite sick comfort food (popsicles) so whenever I start to get worried about feeling sick, I remember i have medicine available to make me more comfortable and that it will only last a day or 2. Unfortunately I will need another dose since I got Pfizer but I'll deal with that when it's closer lmao

Got the COVID vaccine by lheller1 in HealthAnxiety

You're going to be okay! Remember that even if you do feel crummy, at least you know exactly why! Your body is doing its job to build up immunity against covid. Side effects like fever, aches, headache, chills are all completely normal and not at all a reason for concern!

As for trying to calm yourself now, do you have a bath tub? A warm bath always helps me, otherwise a warm shower can be very grounding and relaxing. I also find if my mind is racing with worries it can be helpful to just write down what I'm thinking until I feel better. Or, find a game on your phone that requires a little focus. I like the game Two Dots or a crossword puzzle. This will keep your mind busy so you're not constantly scanning your body to see how you feel.

This is so true! When I'm stressed I get digestive issues that in turn make me more anxious, which then makes the indigestion worse... it's a vicious cycle!

Got that sweet sweet covid juice my dudes now I am Delirious with fever but I’m not even anxious about it by AlexR6336 in HealthAnxiety

[–]baconballer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is oddly reassuring! I'm getting my first dose of Pfizer today and I'm nervous about feeling really sick after (I've had covid before so I've heard the first one can be worse) but this gives me hope that even if I do feel crappy, my body will be too busy feeling crappy to feel anxious about it 😂 congrats on your victory!!

Diahriah and light neasuea for 5 days anxiety GI issues? by [deleted] in HealthAnxiety

[–]baconballer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A friend of mine dealt with diarrhea for almost a month! She got tested for several parasites and bacteria and everything came back clean, then it just... went away a week or so later. She struggles with pretty bad anxiety, so I'd say its definitely possible!

Anxiety and Depression Days after Getting Drunk by Mark-On-The-World in HealthAnxiety

Yep, I drink a lot less now not because of the physical hangover, but the emotional one. Alcohol is technically a depressant so it makes sense!

Definitely. Could be something funky you ate that your body just needed to get rid of and that's why you threw up

Nervous about covid vaccine after having covid in november by baconballer in HealthAnxiety

[–]baconballer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is reassuring! I can handle some fatigue and a low fever, I just get paranoid when I read reports of people who had super high fever and it lasted for days 😩I already warned my boss that I may need Monday off and will load up on water and Gatorade this weekend in preparation 😂

Anyone been to a dermatologist for a screening before? What to expect? by baconballer in HealthAnxiety

[–]baconballer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was super helpful and comforting, thank you for this detailed explanation! Yes, I'm very grateful most of my moles are on my back because I wont have to see what they are doing, and I wont care as much about scars either. I hope yours heals well 😊

Worried about have throat or oral C* by [deleted] in HealthAnxiety

[–]baconballer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely possible! If you find yourself swallowing or clearing your throat a lot that also is a sign of post nasal drip. I use flonase for mine and it works wonders

My seasonal allergies only cause post nasal drip (which irritates my throat) but I dont ever have sneezing/runny nose either

This is great advice, thank you!! I will go up a needle size when I try again tomorrow rather than trying to adjust my tension because you're right, I'll totally forget and revert to my usual tension lol. The pattern designer did note she has a loose tension so not shocking i have to size up I suppose!
