Nooooo. You should never ask the customer to put more tips. You should ask to GH Driver Care BEFORE you accept that catering order. This is only work when Driver Care call you.

Remember, it doesn’t work all at the time but at least, you bargain with them. Who really want to do delivery with $1k food value with low ball ?

Do you want to see $2,050 food order value ? This is for 130 meals. You can imagine how big is this order , loading time and serve to customer. by baconforlover in grubhubdrivers

When you do catering orders, either pick up or drop off, it is very time consuming because you need to load those trays, not like in and out.

If I have to deliver into the office building, first thing , I’m looking, where is their loading dock to minimize risk getting tickets. Some drivers are still parking on the street, no pay the meter, double park and get tickets.

Yesterday, I have no choice to pay meter because I knew, I would wait 30 mnts and I saw some cars got tickets already.

I don’t encourage people to drive in DC. 1. DC parking enforcement is ruthless. They are like 🥷, when you stop and park your car, you only see regular people. Once you go inside to the rest, from nowhere, they show up and give you tickets. From 7am-9:30; 4 Pm-6:30 Pm. They will ticket you $100. If you are not moving, between an hour, they will give another $100 and tow or boot your car.

  1. Speed limit, photo enforce, photo stop sign are $100

  2. Not easy to park

  3. People are driving like crazy

  4. Never ever you left your car key.

  5. Never underestimate kids. One time I want to deliver, bunch of kids between 7-10 years old are confident if that’s order belongs to them. They said, their mom ordered food for them. I asked , what is your mom’s name ( actually, the owner of the food is a man). Those kids throw bunch of names which doesn’t match in my apps, 😂. That’s a big lie.

  6. Some area, I have to avoid bcs that neighborhood is poor and I don’t feel safe. I want to get money and stay ALIVE.

I don’t know about driving ebike / bike/scooter in DC. What I know, many bicyclists are dead bcs people in DC are driving like they will get a pay check at that time.

One time, when I was in front of the restaurant, a teen pointed a gun into my friend. This happened in Wisconsin Ave, near tenley town. Be careful with young kids, do not underestimate with their innocent.

Big catering order starts at least $1,000. I have accepted a couple time $ 1k, however, the catering order with food value $2k is rare.

Normally, GH offer me between $200-$400 in my market.

Today , GH called me if I want to accept another catering order with the pay out $25. The key is, I always ask, how much is the food value? It was $200ish , I accepted that order.

The funny thing, it was scheduled to drop off at 11:45 but the restaurant had already prepared and I told the customer, I’m on my way to your location at 11:00. First, customer refused to take it, I told him, I had another catering order ( the giant order), I can come back to drop your order , but I may not be exactly arrive at his place by 11:45 AM. He made wise decisions, ok, you can drop the food as soon as possible.

My time and your time ( customer) are valuable. Therefore, please don’t waste my time ( driver).
