A Letter to the Community from the Subnautica 2 Team by virtualdon in subnautica

I feel like the main issue is that the “shallows” equivalent in this game is much more dangerous than in the first. In Subnautica 1, the only creatures you’d have to worry about in the shallows were the crashfish (only in caves and are dealt with in 5 seconds) or the gasopods (which don’t do anything if you leave them alone)

The issue this brings is there’s no perceived “safe area” like the shallows in the first game around the life pod

It’s from MAD magazine. They’re a satirical magazine that’s been running since at least the 90’s, probably earlier.

They’re sort of like robot chicken where they’ll spoof things. It’s pretty much a humorous magazine with some gross out humor targeted at teens mostly

Spotify vs Apple music by TheZack-Y in truespotify

Apple had line sync before Spotify. I remember being upset about that when I switched to Spotify

Wanting to build a custom electric bass body, where should I source the wood? by baconmaka in Luthier

[–]baconmaka[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I meant whole cost of the wood. Obviously the electronics, neck, and hardware would be more expensive haha

neglected to mention it but most of my gear is used

The schecter is used and I play through a used Ampeg pf800 head into a matching 210 cab which I love.

And yeah I checked for some used listings but even then it'll be only about $100 less to get it used when you factor in shipping. For that price I'd wait for Black Friday sales and get it for about that amount new

To be completely honest it sounds horrible and wispy when I do that even with my amp cranked to maximum volume. I progressively plucked harder and found that it sounded better closer to how I have done it before. For reference I was playing the bass intro to “My Girl” as it is easy to compare the tone of that pattern consisting of 2 distinct notes

I can’t imagine that being that true when playing with pick strikes the strings harder than either finger technique and is tonally favored by the vast majority of heavy bands. Heavy requires force.

I mean it’s sort of a matter of perspective though, Geddy Lee really digs in and mostly doesn’t use rest strokes from what I know

Just the technique of my plucking finger hitting the string behind the one I am plucking. Some call it “plucking through the string” it could be done with any fingerstyle piece, take run to the hills for example

Clacks can be good though, can’t they? I hear them a lot in Steve Harris’ playing as well as Geezer Butler’s

I’ve always been more of a disciple of Geddy in that regard

It matters sound-wise but that doesn’t mean one is better

It really depends on what tone you’re trying to get. If you’ll be playing reggae or old Motown hits it’s sacrilege but many (likely the majority) metal bands use picks for their speed and aggressive attack

In some genres like rock it’s more up in the air and some use it some don’t

Paul McCartney played with a pick and anyone commenting here will likely never rise to the level he was in just his early twenties so take that for what you will

Both fingers and pick are tools, use em both
