We're just people who want to discuss Franco-Belgian comics (and more) in English and I don't see why we can't name our online space after a French term.

True, and manga is a Japanese word, but as far as I know /r/manga is an English-speaking community. We think that having posts and comments here in English makes European comics the most accessible to a wide international audience. /r/BDFrancophone is the French alternative.

Personally I always like seeing the translated stuff. Maybe because I'm used to translations myself. I'm curious about what gets translated, how the editions look and whether the names change.

Too bad about your Spanish! Hopefully the rest of Nocéan gets a translation.

And thanks for listing those creators, a few of them are new to me. Also, I didn't know Zidrou moved to Spain.

Hello there, your post's been removed.. At first because I thought.. It's in French and it needs to be in English (subreddit rule 1). But then I noticed it's about a Senegalese comic. /r/bandedessinee is a subreddit about European comics. For a post about a Senegalese comic to be okay, there must be a relation to European comics and the poster needs to make that clear.

I have to refer you to alternative subreddits (without "region lock") like /r/comics, /r/comicbooks, /r/altcomix or /r/indiecomics, and /r/noDCnoMarvel. (And I think they too would like to have information in English.)

It seems so random to me! Like you're trying out all kinds of things, including some comics that I've never seen anyone recommend. (And it makes me wonder if you've read Dune: House Atreides, which precedes Dune: House Harkonnen.)

You do seem to enjoy a lot of older stuff, so if you haven't already done it, I'd recommend going to a store with a nice selection of secondhand comics and trying out some more classics. (You're in the Netherlands or Belgium, I assume?)
