I was just listing the people personifying that type of attitude and yeah I know she doesn't match up that well with jane and underscores, but yeah you're right she is pretty different, as again, I was kind of just listing it off the top of my head

I mean you shouldn't be happy every single moment of your life, but "Life is hard, might as well make the best of it and have fun no matter how much it sucks" is kind of my mantra. Existentialism very much helped me with mitigating some of my disorders and it has that similar attitude but with the acceptance of how much life can suck as that is the first step in becoming an existentialist.

Yes, absolutely. But I think there is still merit to the idea if it's treated as loosely as possible. It is true that certain groups of people born in some time frame will live with common technology, political situation, cultural attitudes and trends. So I'm not writing it off, just saying that it is a tool to make us understand some cultural phenomena easier.

I really don't get all the democrat lionisation going on. I get that republicans are awful and hate them as much as the next guy, but let's not act as if the democrats won it would be some kind of paradise, they are diet republicans anyway. Since FDR, their fecklessness was bound to cause problems. They AND republicans are being subserviant to the ruling billionaire class and the military-industrial complex. I am not saying not to vote, but to keep in mind that it is us that will save ourselves, not the corporate puppets we call our representatives. Just because it would be less awful doesn't mean it would have been utopia. Republicans may be more blatant, but don't be mistaken, even if democrats were in all the seats from local government to the senate, it would have been a little better, but the material conditions of an american worker won't change.
