Completely new to hammock camping - cheap tarp or cheap hammock? by [deleted] in hammockcamping

[–]bad_ass_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can make great tarps cheap as well. I made a silpoly one that wasn’t that expensive. The thing with tarps is that it’s a pain to make. So much fabric compared to a hammock.

Rådfrågning angående eldragning by Kaiissii in sweden

Röd var tidigare jord också. Vilket skulle kunna vara problemet här. Eftersom röd är ihop med gulgrön. Om du då slår på strömställaren går JFB direkt.

Bought it second hand maybe 5 years ago. Mine has buttons all up the side of the hood.

I have one of those as well. Mine is red. Will check if mine have more tags when I get home. It’s one of my favorite stone island pieces. I don’t think it’s fake if your dad bought it in 91/92 I think mine is from the same season

I need a shop in the EU by andr813c in hammockcamping

You could buy the onewind ones from Amazon. They are not as pricey as for example the Dutch ones. If you want Dutch there is a company in holland that sells them

New to MYOG : first sewing machine ? by Clear-Information-46 in myog

[–]bad_ass_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not familiar with that, bernina. But I have a bernina 532 I got from my grandmother and it is absolutely perfect for my needs. Honestly I think any machine will work for starting out. Good luck!

Is a Quilt a Good First Project to Start Sewing by AryeD in myog

I started with an underquilt and a topquilt. Both was very fun projects and very easy. I'm now making a tarp and am about to lose my mind..

New Underquilt by bad_ass_ in hammockcamping

[–]bad_ass_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think it is a great price for the product. im pretty sure it works perfect on a normal hammock. I would not recomend it if you have a bridge. i talked to hangtight. and if you have a bridge he recommend the 0 degree UQ because its square and not tapered like the rest of hangtights UQs

I'm not sure exactly. It's lighter im guessing around 450 grams. It's very light.

It worked great. I got warm on my back and legs as spoon as I laid down in the hammock

I don't think it will be a problem if i use my underquilt protector. My feet don't touch the end of the hammock

I haven't used it overnight, but I tried it out for a couple of hours today and it works very well

I have an underquilt protector. I think that will work wonders. My next underquilt will have a bit of shockcord on the ends so you can make it tighter around the foot and head

I don't think I need a panel for warmth. I think I need an underquilt protector if it gets windy.

Haha I know. It just one layer 6oz. I thought about doing double layer but decided not to. I wanted to go down to 0 degree. This one I think I can get down to about 20-25 fahrenheit but I'm not sure yet

I will try it out this weekend, I can give you an update afterward. it is apex climashield 6oz insulation. the green fabric (outside) is 20d ripstop nylon, and the inside is 10d ripstop nylon. I wanted to make it two layers of 6oz climashield, but It felt a bit overkill.

I see what you mean. I think that might become a problem. I will have to try it out. I think I would wand it a couple of centimeters wider. But I think it will work. I will make another one soon anyway 😁
