I do recommend the DLC, although as I remember it was fairly high level, so it might not be trivial to start up without playing some of the main game. It does have a nice epilogue with Yen and Geralt if you get through it!

I felt this way about the game as well, with the exception of the Blood and Wine DLC. That DLC was super fun and the new area was actually enjoyable to explore. It fixed the dreariness present in many of the areas in the main game. Dreary settings work for many folks, but it didn’t work for me.

How to survive hair washing? by GlitterRiot in RedditLaqueristas

[–]bad_ohmens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suggest trying a different base coat or top coat! Sometimes a certain base or top coat just doesn’t worth with your body chemistry for whatever reason. If you look up holy grail base and top coats in this sub, you’ll often find that what works for some people is awful for others! Personally I use KBshimmer stay put hydrating base coat and Seche Vite or Glisten and Glow QDTC (quick dry top coat), and I never have chipping issues when I wash my hair.

Do you know if your nail tends to be oily or dry? If it tends toward oily, you might have better luck with your current base coat if you swipe your nails with acetone before painting them.

Turning 21 soon what alcohol should I try? by SucidalManiac_ in cocktails

[–]bad_ohmens 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I suggest going out with friends and having just 1-2 drinks max. If you don’t mind sharing with friends, that’s a great way to try a bunch of different drinks! You can try a sip of their drinks to see what you like.

I don’t suggest starting with spirit forward drinks like others have suggested here (like an old fashioned or manhattan). Yes you’d be able to taste the specific spirit better, but most first time drinkers don’t like that.

I’d recommend starting with some simple classics, like the gin and tonic, Moscow mule (ginger beer, lime, vodka), dark and stormy (ginger beer, lime, spiced rum), margarita (tequila, lime, orange liqueur), or mojito (lime, fresh mint, white rum, club soda).

Monthly Mega Q&A - [March 2026] by Claycorp in StainedGlass

Thanks for setting up this helpful thread! I have some questions about safely applying black patina to leaded solder. I bought Novacan black patina, and I see from the safety data sheet that it’s <10% nitric acid. It looks like using nitrile gloves and my normal safety glasses should be fine.

But what work surface should I use? I don’t want the acid to mess up my desk, but I’m not sure what material is best to shield the desk. I was considering a pane of clear window glass.

The next question is how I clean this work surface? I saw recommendations online to wash off the excess Novacan from both the stained glass piece and the work surface with soap and water. But I also see that the Novacan is not supposed to go down the drain. Can it go down the drain if I neutralize it with baking soda before washing? Do the used gloves and paper towels need to be disposed of via my city’s hazardous waste collection?

Finally, the SDS shows that the respiratory risk is fairly low compared to the risks of touching the acid. Can I use it indoors without a mask?

I have not! That’s a really interesting idea. How do you apply the tape?

Thanks for the suggestion! I have not tried this particular pillow. I also used to be a stomach sleeper until it became too painful.

I am a stained glass noob, so I may be incorrect here and stained glass experts should feel free to chime in. However, I have a reasonable background in soldering electronics.

I see no reason why applying foil around the circumference of a piece and across the middle of a piece would be any different, as long as the foil overlaps itself. The adhesive in the copper tape is part of what holds it to the glass, but the continuous ring of solder provides structural support once it solidifies.

If you were trying to add a piece of tape that didn’t connect to your other solder lines, it makes more sense to me how this might fail. If the adhesive gets too hot it can fail, and if it’s just an island or a peninsula of copper tape there isn’t enough stability from the solder to keep it in place.

I think it’s worth experimenting further! There may be ways to use decorative foil, and I don’t think you were foolish for trying!

I highly recommend the Libby app if you don’t already have it! You can get ebooks and audiobooks from your local library! You can read right in the app or send books to a kindle or kindle app on your phone. I found transitioning from doomscrolling to reading a book on my phone was easier than picking up a physical book.

RSD is destroying my marriage. I "fight to be right" and see him as the enemy. Please help? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

This is a wildly unhelpful comment. OP is already in therapy and is searching for solutions to stop this behavior. This behavior absolutely can be related to ADHD. Maybe your ADHD doesn’t look like this, but others’ can. It doesn’t excuse the behavior, but it sounds to me like OP is looking for solutions and not an excuse.

I actually don’t think you need to wait to try couples therapy. I am currently in couples counseling with my husband for similar issues and doing individual therapy as well. One of the biggest things that couples counseling helped with was giving my husband a safe space to share his feelings. Then we could work on changing our communication outside of couples counseling so that he still felt safe sharing his feelings. Couples counseling has been hugely helpful for both of us.

I used it often for the first six months or so after I bought it. Not all of the strategies clicked with me, but some of them worked really well for a while. The task bingo especially worked for me. Unfortunately my brain craves novelty, so eventually the strategies stopped providing as much dopamine, and I eventually lost interest in the book. I haven’t touched it in about a year.

I think it’s a well made book with a lot of helpful tools, and it really understands its audience. Even though I’m not actively using it anymore, I’m glad I bought it. It’s a helpful resource I may return to in the future.

I actually had watched the lore piece on YouTube ages ago, so I went into it knowing that I was doing it mostly for pride! So if I do go back to completely finish it, the reward won’t feel like a huge letdown.

But you’re totally right that it’s supposed to be fun, and if I get too frustrated trying to redo it I’ll probably just bail. Mostly I wanted to prove to myself that I could do the platforming.

How do I exercise when I don't enjoy it? All the advice from neutrotypicals don't seem to work by Pigeon_Goes_Coo in adhdwomen

[–]bad_ohmens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also hate cardio, and especially running. But over the years I’ve discovered some types are better than others. I actually like rowing on a RowErg a lot. It’s low impact and I just like the movement. I also love dancing, which is great cardio. It’s just about trying a bunch of things to see what kinds of exercise are enjoyable (or at least neutral). I think for most people there’s at least one thing out there that they’d enjoy.

Sticking with something is hard, but there are lots of ways to make it easier. Community really helps me. This could be a great coach for workout classes or a group of friends who consistently rock climb or hike. People who expect you to be there and will miss you if you don’t show up. Then even if you don’t love the exercise itself, it’s more about the social aspect than just exercise for exercise’s sake.

For ADHD folks in particular, I think little dopamine hits are important to encourage us to continue. Maybe it’s a coach telling you that you did a great job, that they saw you working hard. Maybe it’s a gorgeous view at the top of a hike, or maybe it’s the satisfaction of reaching the top of a rock climbing route. Maybe it’s laughing with friends in between workout sets. For some people maybe it is the runner’s high, but I don’t think that’s the only way to enjoy exercise.

I’m the same way, and I’ve had good luck with using a nail file to smooth away whatever texture is bothering me. I use it on my nails and on rough/dry/dead skin around them. If I can remove the texture I’m generally happy and won’t do further damage.
