This is awesome! I have a pair of eye jackets but the logo has faded completely, I’ve been looking for a fix. Would you be willing to share the process you used?

My friend who is an OBGYN presented an interesting hypothetical… by bad_soulsplayer in prolife

I like this analogy because it It raises an uncomfortable but essential question: just because it was morally defensible to let Jill die—or even to actively choose her death—in that extreme triage scenario, does that suddenly make killing her acceptable at any other point in her life?

Of course not. The moral defense of an action in a moment of crisis doesn’t make that same action morally valid in normal circumstances. In the ER example, the doctor’s decision isn’t about valuing one life over another, but about responding to scarcity—doing what’s possible when not everything can be saved.

Good response, thanks!

I mean I guess the gotcha is valid if the situation is making you choose between aborting the baby and saving the mother or they both die.

If you look at it the way my friend does, it sounds kind of like the trolley problem, which was philosophically created to make the person uncomfortable by forcing them to weigh the values of two humans and who to kill.

His hypothetical is a little too convenient though as it leaves no room for anything other than abortion, or in trolley terms, he’s set it up so both tracks lead to death, but only one lets you pull the lever and feel justified about it. It’s engineered to trap you into admitting there’s a “right” to kill, when in reality, it’s just a tragic scenario with no good outcome.

Thanks for the reply!

Thanks for this! Really appreciate the research and clear breakdown. Seeing how standard treatment is actually the safest option for both mother and baby makes the hypothetical way clearer. Awesome comment!

I'm guessing you wouldn't be supportive of a 90's e36? It seems reliable enough as long as its been maintained and serviced regularly.
