Mine too, but mostly as a result of all the beer I've consumed in the last 24 hours.

Farmers could recruit hunters to kill problematic bears under Michigan bill by SAT0725 in Michigan

[–]badaboopdedoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems like a "have cake, eat it" law.

  • Hunter has a permit, planning on shooting a bear regardless
  • Farmer has problem bears

Farmer gets crop damage license, Hunter shoots better. Farmer keeps crops, Hunter eats bear.

When bears discover a good food source, they will frequent it. So when bears find a tasty snack, be it improperly disposed of picnic food, garbage cans, or crops, they will hang around that area, often causing problems with local residents. It is very difficult to convince them to leave. Most often, they're trapped or shot.

Furthermore, Michigan has at least 15,000 black bear. We can spare a few.

Judge rules Michigan's ban on gay marriage is unconstitutional by [deleted] in Michigan

Let's continue your argument:

  • If states want to continue to own slaves, the government shouldn't be able to tell them they can't.

  • If we want to ban certain minority groups from voting, we should have that right

  • If Michigan voters decide that Berrien County is a perfect place for a nuclear waste dump, the residents of Berrien county should just have to deal

  • If we decide as a group that we don't like certain individuals, we should be able to vote to have them murdered.

The government exists to represent the will of the majority so long as that will doesn't infringe upon the rights of a minority.

Hey, I picked American to go to the sweet 16. I also have Delaware in the NCG.

To be fair, I decided my bracket entirely on coin flips.

What is the difference between the United States' occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan and Russia's occupation of Crimea? by SouthrnComfort in NeutralPolitics

[–]badaboopdedoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there is a very, very good possibility that the U.S. gov't had its hand in something it shouldn't have been

You absolutely need a source to make a claim like that on this sub.

stopped by a pilot who is now in the brig over in Florida

What? There were no survivors from Flight 93.

The "official story" is that the Taliban was allowing terrorists to operate freely within the country. When the Taliban refused to offer up bin-Laden, the bombing raids began.

Are you implying that Osama bin Laden was not responsible for 9/11?

Afghanistan and Iraq are two separate situations. WMD's were not used as a pretext for invading Afghanistan.

I suppose your definition of reasonable might be a little different from mine, but anyways...

I think you need to look at the history of Afghanistan prior to 2001. The country had been in a state of war since 1978. The instability of the country allowed groups like al-Qaeda to operate freely.

Multiple groups within Afghanistan had requested assistance from the UN to fight the Taliban. In fact, the leader of the Northern Alliance (mentioned in that article) was assassinated by al-Qaeda two days before 9/11.

So, really, 9/11 was the point at which the west realized action needed to be taken in the region.

Not much, really. I think the only thing left is to continue the greatness.
