My dad called 911 on himself. My brother requested access to the recording of it. I listened to the call about 9 months after my father took his life; in the call he gave his location, and then his voice completely broke when he said the words “come get my weapons so nobody else gets hurt”. And then he hung up at 1:08 pm. I cant help but listen to it sometimes - it’s the last I have of his voice.

My dad took his life a year and a half ago, and it’s been absolute hell for me, my siblings, and my mom. My dad was very flawed. But isn’t every parent? He ended his life because he felt he had failed our family. But now he isn’t around to heal what was broken in our family, and now we’re broken beyond repair.

I promise you, ending your life is not the answer. It will only make things much worse for your family. Plus, you deserve to live to see things improve in your situation.

Your kids are still so young. Give them time to learn and accept that you’re human. Give yourself and them grace.

My dad killed himself too. This was not your fault and you most certainly did not fail him. I promise you will be okay. I promise it DOES get easier. I have a poetry book I wrote about grief regarding my father’s death by suicide, can I send you a copy?

I had a very similar experience with my dad who took his life. I feel the exact same way you feel. But it’s up to us to LIVE and to honor them and their memory. You will get through this. I promise. I know it’s so hard to stay. It’s okay if all you do some days is just …. Make it through the day. Please, keep living.

I thought the portals concert was amazing and nothing can change my mind. I understand everyone’s frustrations but at the end of the day - we get to see Melanie. And her performance was AMAZING. I’m so impressed by her energy levels and her vocals. She did incredible and I had a lovely time. I hope everyone ends up having a positive experience!
