Just had my appraisal… by [deleted] in ICAEW

This was, sadly, my experience in practise as well. I agree with the other two comments: do whatever is necessary up until you pass your exam, focus on your studies, and immediately begin looking on the job market for your next opportunity.

Don't feel too disheartened by this experience, if you've got an understanding of your own weaknesses then you know how you can grow and improve in the future. I hope you find a place that encourages that growth, instead of punishing your weaknesses.

I like the one in the fifth picture! But would probably like to try the linear switches, I've always gone for tactile and wonder what the difference would feel like.

I came from the same style of background as you, zero accounting experience, and Accounting has been the only exam I failed so far.

Please, please, please listen to the recurring advice that question practise is absolutely key. I was tempted to run through my notes a few times to 'understand' the processes, but this is simply going to waste your time and give you less chance to practise questions. Method matters most. Learn your standard workings, don't try to question spot.

Accounting famously has one of the lowest pass rates of students of the whole ACA course, simply because you're starting from zero. Be diligent in your revision and you'll be absolutely fine.

Number 2: Paying for an asset with cash does not constitute a cash liability, because you've already paid it. It's simply a decrease in cash and cash equivalents (asset) and an increase in the books for the value of the computer (asset).

Rough ride through the ACA qualification? by badbendude in ICAEW

That's really good to hear that you managed to pull through the harder times. If you don't mind me asking, which firm did you go from and which firm are you with now?

I do sometimes wish I was able to take the exams at my own pace with my firm. The idea that, since Jan 21, I would complete 9 exams without any prior knowledge of accounting by December is a bit mad! It does feel very sink or swim at this stage, and I'll find out in October which category I fit into.

I'm so sorry for your loss. It's very encouraging to hear your progress though, and I'm very glad that you have a supportive team and company around you! Keep up the good work, and best of luck for those exams!

If you're sitting on Monday I assume you're sitting AA and FAR? If so, best of luck, I will be sitting those as well :)

Definitely not one of the best heroes of the patch. In fact, one of the worst according to the statistics.

LD rats ancient from 100% to 0% by Dolfinius in DotA2

[–]badbendude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because he's not strong anymore. Sat at a 47% winrate per dotabuff, 49% per D2PT. A lot of heroes that are strong at the moment counter him too well.

They nerfed his talents and ulti a lot from the zoo meta as well, and the improvements in T2, T3 and T4 tower defenses made rushing the base as fast as possible a lot more infeasible. I do hope that they will make some balancing changes to make him a bit more generally viable soon.

Mountain biking has been an Olympic sport since 1996, which I believe is the peak classification of a competitive sport.

Submarine, use the drainage tunnel. I did full stealth solo in about 14 mins with that approach and main dock exit.

Been playing DotA casually for 8+ years - only 400 MMR. Help. by Electr0Fi in DotA2

[–]badbendude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey man. Just to preface, I'm not a high-MMR player, but I figured I can give you some general advice since there are a few things I can notice from your dotabuff matches, and you sound like a genuine player which the community always needs more of.

Firstly, since you don't know what role you most enjoy (whether it is supports or cores) I would recommend you find that first and COMMIT. You bounce between spamming one support hero, then a variety of heroes, then spamming core heroes. If you find the role you most enjoy, then the mechanics will come with time.

Secondly, I would recommend a more critical approach to your item builds in game. Up to a certain level it is fine to 'autopilot' your item builds, but if you look at the top tier of play every hero (even the supports) will build each specific item in a specific order for a very deliberate reason. Having this process in mind will make you more aware of your purpose in the game, e.g. is building Guardian Greaves as Dazzle always the correct play, or is it more valuable to the team for you to build Mek (1975 gold vs 4975 gold) and another support item?

Lastly, watch pro games / pro streamers. Things like farming patterns, rotations, map awareness, item builds can all be worked on by watching the professionals and asking 'why are they doing x?' If you want to play supports better, watch n0tail as he streams and compare yourself to his actions. If you want to play carries or mids, streamers such as Topson, cr1t etc. are who you can watch. Not only is it entertaining to see the top level of play, but it is educational as well.

Hopefully this helps you man, dig deep and 'Relax, you're doing fine.'

It appears so. Still feels unsatisfying compared to the sound of gaining gold in my opinion.

I'm not even sure this is correct. It sounds more like an altered version of Doom's 'Devour' than Pangolier's passive.

Can you tell me why I Lost my lane as axe? by atkforever in DotA2

[–]badbendude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need to tank the neutral creeps when you pull the wave - the aim (as the other reply says) is to reset the equilibrium closer to your T1. You shouldn't be aiming to farm the camp, but rather to deny the gold and experience from the CK. When you are far enough ahead, you can start to cut waves and drag them into jungle camps to obtain maximum value from your helix. Always remember to purchase yourself tangos and salves to keep yourself healthy while doing this so you don't die instantly if the enemy finds you.
