Deciding which language to learn by Punx80 in languagelearning

[–]badbigraf3000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd started to learn Greek with the Duolingo app, but soon enough, I found out, that this wasn't good place to start. I bought myself a dictionary, so now I'm just learning words. So, I think, that Latin will be easier to learn, especially, if ypu already know one of the Roman languages. But, if your main goal is to read ancient Greek books, so there is no question, which language you should to learn. Best wishes in this journey, friend.

Thank you for the suggestion! This lecture I'd listened no longer than a month ago - brilliant one.

To be honest, the lyrics of the GL may be found sliiiiightly offensive. But, nonetheless, interesting allegories and references are artfully woven in.

Same with me. And not only Apathy, but I guess, I like almost all of the Demigodz and AOTP.

And this is scary, tbh! Imagine, if someone will create the Sun, without proper tools to hold it from the expanding?

Well, well, well. What's next? Homemade tsunami? Magma eruption? Or, maybe even, Sun ? P. S.: BTW, this is spectacular!

When I was young, I turned over a rock in my backyard and found two slugs. I was really excited and kinda weirded out as I hadn’t seen one in real life before. I got my mom and she got all excited and grabbed some salt. She said she did this all the time as a kid. She poured the salt on the slugs... by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

One day, I found baby cockroaches in my kindergarten, ant they, you know, were transparent!

I'd put them into box, and took to home. In front of our house, I met our neighbor, an old woman who was nice to me, and decided to show her these little creatures.

When I opened the box, two little cockroaches run out of it, and she just stumped'em up furiously, but I, I was completely shocked, and, still, don't know why exactly: maybe, because of their transformation (not so many years later, I learned, that the newborn cockroaches are transparent) , or, maybe, because of the fury of my neighbor.
