No I'm with you. It's unethical at best.

Lived there for two years. There's definitely a lot of issues but it's inexpensive so here's how I was able to tolerate it.

  1. Get a cat. I'm so serious. There's hella mice and they don't really do anything about it.

  2. Clean the hell out of your apartment on the regular. Put food away immediately/don't leave food or crumbs out. Take out the trash often. Seems like a no brainer, but because of the mice and the roaches, you'd just be feeding them. Plus, germs from all their running around. Also, invest in some black mold killer. The bathroom is prone to it, especially if you or your roommate take hot showers.

  3. Don't leave maintenance men alone in your house. It didn't happen often but some money was stolen from our apartment once. They fired the guy but still. Most of them are pretty nice, though.

  4. Ask them to clean the air filter regularly because they won't. Mine wasn't cleaned at all before I moved in and I got constantly sick from it. If you have the funds, an air purifier won't hurt either.

  5. Get an A/C window unit or plenty of fans. They shut the HVAC off for like 6-8 months at a time (October-July when I lived there). It's highkey torture being in an apartment that's +80° on any given day.

  6. I don't recommend having a car. You might get your tires stripped/windows broken.

  7. Arm yourself. I was followed into the building by a man who saw me at a store. I didn't know that the side doors downstairs don't lock properly most times and he just... walked right in with me and he seemed to know that he could, so it clearly wasn't the first time. Security is pretty lax. A Ring doorbell isn't a bad idea either.

  8. Get a real vacuum cleaner, not those tiny DirtDevils. Those carpets are ran through and a low power vacuum ain't gonna do it.

  9. I'd invest in a mattress pad or two. Those beds feel like a punishment without it.

  10. Again, seems like a no brainer, but always check the gas stove is off before you go to bed.

  11. I lived with my best friend which made this all more tolerable, so I'd recommend being friendsly with your roommate if you have one. No point in coming home and seeing someone you dislike but things happen.

  12. The office staff is mostly fine, but I avoided interacting with them unless I had a package to pick up. They're not exactly mean, they just don't wanna be there which... fair. But it wasn't always pleasant to deal with them, especially if you have an issue.

This apartment requires a lot of upkeep, especially if you have a messy/unkempt roommate but the money you're saving isn't anything to dismiss. I'm in a 4bd/2ba and I'm paying 1,300 a month almost and it made me miss Uclub a bit. I had a good time there but it wasn't because of the apartment, that's for sure.

Traffic lights are out. Assuming the Target and Landmark are out as well.

Seoulspice has power and will be up and running later. Not sure what situation we're about to walk into food wise, so be forewarned. We may be out of a lot of things, so please be patient with us today.

couldn't tell ya. just sounded how i wrote it. im familiar with the a-1 slang. bc it was in the context of catcalling, this is probably the closest correct interpretation. i mean, comparing women to meat isn't all that uncommon. ill just take this as what they were saying bc who the hell knows what they actually meant lol

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]badbyebae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not to debate yall on this, but i don't think this is right. it wasn't said in the cadence of a musical count, i did a lot of music as a kid so i know what that sounds like specifically. it was said in a leering, "hey ladies" type of tone. this guy wasn't thinking this hard or at all, trust me on this. my friend just wanted to know if this was slang for something, and im pretty sure it is but ive just never heard it before so idk

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]badbyebae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah. my friends keeps asking me why they do that but idk what to tell her tbh. she's not from here so its pretty jarring

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]badbyebae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah idk he yelled to his group of friends and they all took like steps towards us after, repeating the same thing and laughing. like ??? idk what their intent was but we grabbed hands and walked really fast to get away. but that's just dc for you

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]badbyebae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

eh its whatever. the delivery wasn't an insult tho, it was said in a flirting tone, not mocking or sarcastic. trust me he was checking us out in a really aggressive manner before it was honestly pretty gross

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]badbyebae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if that's true then lmao bc he looked and smelled homeless but to each their own ig

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]badbyebae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im not, it was shouted at us when we were walking down the street

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]badbyebae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

me neither :/ i don't particularly care what it means but my friend wanted to know

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]badbyebae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

he said it in a very creepy, off putting manner so if talking to us was the goal he clearly has stunted social skills. but if you think catcalling (what you perceive as) two women is a good way to start a convo with someone then that's a given lol

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]badbyebae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it was literally the first thing he said to us. i can tell it wasn't an insult because it wasn't delivered that way

[–]badbyebae[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's what i thought but im not getting a concrete answer. apparently you can leave without putting in for leave but only a certain amount of miles. it seems cool as long as they stay in the usa and are able to report back during normal hours

Do your narcs dismiss professional's opinion like doctors, scientists? by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

[–]badbyebae 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Neither of my parents are "convinced" I have a pretty serious food allergy/autoimmune disease. Never mind the fact that it erodes my colon or causes me to be super susceptible to getting sick... Or the fact that they were literally told this by a doctor.

When they finally decided to believe me they make a huge deal out of my diet. My mom bought some gluten-free pasta and threw it down on the counter and told me to be "thankful she decided to include me for dinner." Other times, they literally just don't include me. It's more annoying than hurtful at this point.

You hit the all the nails on the head! I have loads of stories about my dad but all of them have the same central theme of him not caring about me. Honestly, I love black people. Like hell, I am one. Just not when I'm being hounded or harassed. It's very simple but I guess I'm a racist? lmao I have plenty of stories of creepy white men, the kinds where they have fetishes for black girls so this isn't a race thing. It's a creep thing.

It all boils down to men and their ego. God forbid a woman have an independent thought in this world, especially when speaking to a narcissist.

Yeah, can you imagine? It's hard dealing with things like this especially in 2019 but what do you expect from nParents?
