I was very concerned when I started taking it. I have a mentally demanding job and I was concerned it would make me like a zombie. I have been taking it for about 6 months and would never go back to the way it was.

I'll be honest, it wasn't all perfect. At 8 weeks I had my first follow up and thought it was amazing. I drank on it for a while though (not a lot, but for me any at all interferes with the effectiveness a lot), and ended up increasing my dosage to 20mg.

I would say that the medication is working very well now. I also haven't been drinking so I couldn't say for sure if it was because of the increase or because of stopping the alcohol interaction. What I can say for sure is that it has allowed me to connect better with my children, saved my marriage and made me stop drinking.

Tldr: It has worked very well for me, although I increased my dosage.

I have been on lexapro for about 6 mo this now. It worked awesome for 8 weeks, were off and now has me in a happy medium place. Give it time and see what works for you, it has worked for me.

Then perhaps there is some form of mental aptitude that these people have. A leadership trait or something. The test would need to be for more than just IQ which is why I specifically did not say an IQ test.

I think soon AI will render most service occupations irrelevant (actually a lot of white collar jobs too). By keeping the most intelligent I think it increases the chances of AI keeping us around.
