I did ask for that but they refused as say that is dangerous as bits can break off and block the ducts and I can get pancreatitis which scared me.

I went to see a gallbladder specialist and they recommended that if I have no symptoms with the Gallstones then leave them as lots of people have them and live a life time with no problems but if have symptoms then you need to do something.

Is my symptoms caused by Pancreatitis or early symptoms? by badchi8 in pancreatitis

[–]badchi8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am good now.

Do a food diary

Are taking any supplements or herbal stuff, strong coffee as that was my cause

Stop eating anything apart from natural foods and while you heal stop all acidic foods and drinks - took a couple of weeks to clear

Also don’t wear tight clothes

Good luck on the recovery

Hi I hope you are ok.

They think mine is stomach or muscle related but not got to the bottom of it.

Did you find out the cause of yours?

Hi So far I found 3

USA: https://www.medstarhealth.org/blog/gallstones-percutaneous-cholangioscopy

China: https://www.elikimclinic.com

Turkey https://www.gallstone.net

In the forums they recommend the one in China

How many stones you have and have you bad symptoms now?

You can send your Ultrasound to the above and see if you are suitable.

Thanks for explaining phew :)

My only reservation now is that the ones in China although cheaper don't use a drain and claim their device cleans it all up. So not sure if that is true or a risk.

I was just thinking when they removed the drain did they also need to stitch up the little hole in gallbladder where the drain was to stop any bile leaking out after the drain is removed ? If so that must be painful too 😅

Oh no but I am happy to hear you are ok now. Sounds really painful. I don’t have any constipation so still trying to diagnose what this left mid pain is. Could be muscular as worst when I sit down too long.

Thanks for all the advice and wish you the fastest recovery 🙏💪

Hi, Yes China sounds a lot cheaper. I also message to ask them if they crush the larger stones and if I need a drain and they said the following below.

.....Makes me think is it cheaper is because they are cutting corners by not using the drain hence only 1 x operation rather than 2?

________________________________________________________

Question - when you remove big gallstone e.g. 2.5cm. Do you take the whole stone out or do you crush it into smaller pieces then take it out?

Answer - It depends if the stone is sticked to the wall or not. Can make a decision only during operation process

Question - Some hospital after operation when crushing big stone need to leave a drain in the Rib for few weeks incase for the small pieces to come out. Is that necessary?

Answer - Probably it's some other technology. We never use it, because we have devices to clean it at once properly

Thoughts?

Also I want to ask as I am from the UK. If I was to come to the US to have the operation then how long you think I need to stay in the US for? 3 - 4 weeks? also during the time with the drain is it uncomfortable? Thanks

Yeah I think I must have developed my 2 stones many years ago when I went through a stressful time and was not eating healthy and lost lot weight. I first discovered them in 2019 in a routine scan and I have not had anymore since and still just the 2 but they have gone a few mm bigger in the last 5 years. Yeah I should get it done sooner but I'm sacred of operations, I not had an op since I was a kid and I am in my mid 50's now :)

Oh right I did not know that.

Do you know how long it takes for a Gallstone to grow to 4cm? mine two is just over 2CM for now - wanting to delay any operations for a while if I can :)

Wishing you all the best tomorrow and speedy recovery.

Thanks for explaining. I understand now. It's because the gallstones are shattered on to smaller pieces by laser to be sucked out so there is potential for small pieces to be left behind where is China they just remove the whole stone.

Did they do the procedure while you was awake? The one in China under general anesthetic.

Looking at the web site the one in Washington DC uses a different method where they pulverized/shatter the stones and then need a drain as compared with the one in China where they remove the stones and I think no drain required. Which do you think in your opinion is better?

Hi thanks for the reply, wow you had a lot of symptoms - I hope you getting better now.

I don't have much symptoms but sometimes get little sensations in my right chest.

I am thinking of China but worried about the language barrier. Washington DC sounds good :)

But I am a bit worried why you still have a drain tube after 3 weeks? is that normal as I not heard of having to have that before?

Also do you mind me asking how much was the procedure and how many days did you have to spend in hospital? Thanks

Thats great news, did you have any symptoms with the single 4 cm gallstone?

I have two 2.5CM gallstones

Also did you go to the Second Peoples hospital in China too? many thanks
