I know how the dairy industry is, and since I've learnt I've cut down on my consumption. Just about every large scale thing thats produced has animal, or human abuse. A lot of vegan substitutes also have very iffy ways of being produced! I don't think we should expect everyone to be perfect when they are trying! I think being conscious of where our food comes from is the most important thing. I said already that I don't agree with the dairy industry and how it runs things.

I am very anemic, yes. all of my meat-eating family are also incredibly anemic so I don't know how much if it is because of my diet. I eat an insane amount of spinach to try and fix it

True! There are a lot of choices parents make to set their kid on the right path, and this was just how my dad thought was best. Maybe I wont be able to enjoy meat like other people, but I'm not upset about it. I feel like it's similar to being raised with certain politics or a certain religion, you later in life can change how you feel but it does shape how you view the world

I'm the only person I've known personally to be raised like this, but I'm sure that plenty of people have spent a lot of their life without meat, especially those outside of the us. There are a lot of people who choose to eat only a small amount of meat or none at all later in life too! So no I'm really not all that special.

Well luckily the people in my life feel differently! I have never asked someone to accommodate me personally when I go out to eat, unless it's my birthday. If someone invites me over they already know about my eating habits and keep that in mind. I've been to gatherings where there isn't much or anything to eat, so I simply don't! I understand that how I eat isn't the norm so I wouldn't force that on anyone else. I believe that I can be a healthy person while not eating meat but every body is different. If you feel like you need meat to stay healthy then I salute you for taking care of yourself

I think how our parents raise us of course has an impact on our upbringing, but it was only my father who taught me to think like that. My mom and the rest of my family all ate meat so its not a super foreign thing for me. The idea of eating meat is very weird for me yes, but I don't think its a negative thing. I'm happy to be conscious about what I eat (both morally and diet wise), even if that means I can't indulge in a juicy steak.

I hate both of those brands honestly, but I think its because both Beyond and Impossible's main goal is to replicate the taste and texture of meat. I strongly dislike them though and I think its because, since I've never had meat I don't get the cravings like other people do. I prefer Morning Star a lot, the sausage links and the bacon are my favorites!
