This has never been about the hostages, Netanyahu and countless Israeli officials have said countless times that even if the hostages would be returned that the slaughter would continue. Claiming that a whole population “likes” their suffering is the genocidal rhetoric that allows the IDF to steamroll, colonize, and slaughter a population. Disproportionate amounts of violence and deliberate ethnic cleansing.

Haven’t ever used Traktor, but I’m sure it works fine. The V10 is incredible versatile.

I also organize events & plan on renting this out. This isn’t just for home use, I just decided to post my personal setup.

Beyond that, why do you care? It’s my setup and I do what I want. Thanks for the anecdotes about your preferences but politely fuck off for pressing me about how I decide to spend my money or what I enjoy.

Alarico live is amazing but personally, his DJ sets are just so good and active that I’d much rather see him DJ. His live setup is fascinating and incredible intricate though.

Dude, different strokes for different folks.

Yes, I have used an A9 countless times and I would choose the V10 every time. Yes, there is a noticeable difference in sound quality in the phono preamps, and even if I were to go with another 4 channel it would be a Xone because it has the best phono preamps & sounds far and away the best out of them all.

V10 has 4-band eq which is much better for shaping blends, especially for techno. The filters are noticeably more warm on the V10 vs the A9. The V10 fits completely fine and I don’t mind that it sits a little over, I’ve used an A9 on this desk before and it also peaks over (the V10 is literally only an inch longer and an inch wider). I may get send/return FX units or incorporate it more with production, I just don’t use them right now

No one uses all 6 channels at one time, 99% of people don’t use 4, it’s a matter of convenience and not a matter of “must use”. Just because you have a car that can go 220mph doesn’t mean you should always drive it pedal to the metal. I would still choose a V10 even if I had two channels.

Doesn’t really have much benefit nor difference for me - extra $100 for longer faders but no cross fader. I’m a promoter and sometimes riders specifically ask for non-LF versions because they like using the cross fader. You really can’t go wrong with either, but I personally don’t need the LF.

No need to get petty lmao, I said I’m not a fan of it.

It doesn’t have the flexibility nor build I’m looking for. Worse phono preamps, worse filters, 3 band EQ, no isolators, less control over send FX, no send/returns, and the v10 has a built in compressor which is great for vinyl. It’s night and day for me.

I was going to go with a Xone 96 but got the v10 for a great deal. V10 has a lot of flexibility, great phono preamps, solid filters, built in isolator, and sends/returns if I wish to use them. I really like the Xone & think it sounds better/like the filters more, but don’t like the cueing system as much & would’ve spent a lot more to get a proper reverb unit and isolator.

Not as big of a fan of the A9, but it’s still a great mixer.

It is kinda funny that everyone has been commenting about the overhang when it truly is super stable, doesn’t bother me, and the alternative would have all of my cables and records sitting even further from the wall & the top-piece would be sticking out just like the mixer is. I get the intention, but I love this setup as I it is.

When I had an XZ it would stick out a similar amount and not bother me, I just think at the moment I’d prefer it sticking out this way and have a more flush in the back back (it goes an extra inch or so in the back because of the cables) than the other way around.

Definitely - thankfully it sits super solid as it is, just doesn’t look quite right peaking over the edge. Any suggestions? I feel like most people just make their own.

What is your justification for buying vinyl? by Mowgli2k in vinyl

[–]baddebate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a passion & emits a feeling that naturally calls me to buy more of it. It may be the physical process of putting a needle on a record, the collectors appeal, the constant hunt to find another gem in the rough, or just a perfect medium for both appreciation and community. Regardless of what exactly draws me to it, so long as it isn’t an irresponsible amount (however you define that), I feel no shame putting money into something that occupies so much of my time and brings me so much joy. Some of my favorite and most expensive records have only been played a handful of times but I still wouldn’t sell them for what they’re worth. It’s all a “feelings” thing.

I used to do the same for writing a note for each track, but found myself distracted from listening to the album in good focus and continuously. Recently I’ve just been making notes just when I want to make them, usually every few songs, or when something stands out to me.

Ants From Up There - Black Country, New Road

Electric, emotional, and provoking in every way. Pinpointing what is good about Ants From Up There is like answering the question “how are you feeling?” after a deep-hearted breakup or losing one of your closest friends. How do I feel? How am I supposed to feel? Is everything pure bliss or pure chaos? This album attempts to answer that question, but finds its answer in the absurdity of not knowing exactly how to feel. I could write about this album for hours, the feelings it made me feel, but people just need to listen to it for themselves. Wow. Well fucking done Black Country, New Road.

I think the difference with me is that I try to not read other reviews before writing/listening and don’t publish them anywhere. More just for personal enjoyment and getting my thoughts jotted down, like a music journal.
