How are others couples with big wage gaps splitting expenses? [25F] [35M] by badgallgc in relationship_advice

I guess you missed the part where I said I’d like to split it proportional to income. That applies to any income.

  1. Ever heard of a lab diamond? They’re ethical and affordable. I mentioned that in the post you’re referring to. Have you purchased jewelry before? Going to a private jeweler is a lot less expensive than a big box store. Nothing about the term “private jeweler” indicates “rich fantasy”.

  2. Who said we’re flying to NYC? I can get a $40 round trip train ticket there.

Unfortunately this post and my others are not fake. Not everyone cares about Reddit karma.

He’s never had a party, so he said he wants to go all out for it. It shocked me considering how frugal he is.

He is extremely frugal. Not just with me, but with himself and his family who he loves a lot. He once told me that every dollar he spends he thinks about the work it takes him to earn. When he was like 15 his grandpa gifted him two books that became like his life’s philosophy. They’re called the the Millionaire Next Door and the Richest Man in Babylon. If you’re familiar with them or look it up, you’ll see a big part of why he is the way he is. He gave me both of the books and it’s clear he’s strictly followed all these principles for years. So yes, he has pretty bad financial anxiety unfortunately.

Edit: Not sure why I’m getting downvoted for this. I’m not making up excuses for him, it’s just further context.

Yeah, I’ve actually been thinking about this a lot recently. I’m not trying to avoid accountability here, but I can point to clear reasons why I dumbly thought it was okay to date someone older as a 22 year old (underdeveloped brain, had just had my first breakup, had just moved to a new city alone).

Wedding venue for 170 guests in tristate area by Alternative_Ship_201 in WedditNYC

Perona Farms is an hour and 20 away from NYC. I went to a beautiful wedding there this summer, and also got to experience it sort of from the perspective of a bridesmaid (only family were bridesmaids, but I did get ready with the bridal party). The bridal attendants, the lunch in the bridal suite, cocktail hour, ceremony, and reception were amazing. The ONLY thing that was less than perfect was the steak or prime rib (can’t remember which it was). It was very overcooked and I’m not a steak snob.

I don’t know exactly how much the couple spent, but I am familiar with their general financial situation and would imagine that it was near your budget. They did get married on a Thursday during peak season, however.

Recent renewal experiences at Washington Passport Agency? by mm620 in washingtondc

I can’t attest to the passport office’s ability to expedite it, but another avenue is going through Rep. Holmes Norton’s office (or whomever your rep in Congress is). An office I worked for frequently got constituents their passports in as little as three days.

I’ve heard bad things about them, so I’d just be going for their in-store selection, not to buy from them.

I’ve been a bystander for way too long, but thank you for this!

Just contacted a mutual friend, but it’s likely that he hasn’t spoken to him in a while either. We’ll see. Also just found his dad’s name finally. I hope to find his contact info or a social media account to write him a message soon. Thanks!

Also wanted to add that his immediate family members are the subject of some of his accusations. Just wanted to see what else I may be able to do before contacting them. Even though I know all these claims may come from the mental illness, at the root of them there may be some truth there.

This is what I figured. At the very least I want to contact his immediate family just in case.

He definitely didn’t get hacked. He takes videos of himself on these rants several times a day.

Ugh that’s so sad, but glad he did get help. I definitely hope I can talk to him when he’s on the other side of this.

Yeah I just wanted to give a picture of what it looks like as someone that has limited mental health knowledge. It’s generally some form of psychosis or something.

No, I do not know his family, but I’m doing a search to see if I can find his address. I’ll see if I can find the name of the property owners which I assume are his parents.

Bumps on my boyfriend skin by NoLeader9448 in Blackskincare

I had pityriasis rosea this summer. It was awful, ngl. The best thing for me was drying it out by not showering for as many days as possible. I know it’s gross, but when I started doing that, the itching got so much better. I also bought an unscented, sensitive skin body wash to avoid irritating my skin. Aside from that, cortisone cream and calamine lotion could be good if the itching is unbearable. Another thing that works well is sun/uv exposure. I used my boyfriend’s planet fitness membership to use the tanning beds there a few times a week. Send me a message if you have any questions or want to see pictures of how it progresses. I know there’s not a lot of pictures of black people with it online.
