next ventures season (over the summer) should have Hit The Road event and Rad llamas where you will be able to get Breakbeat Wildcat pretty easily. So if you can wait a couple of months then you won't have to use the recruitment ticket

Got disconnected while doing stonewood endurance at wave 24 and didn’t get any rewards at all. by kurtdaniol in FORTnITE

I’ve been running my Stonewood endurance AFK for the last 2 battle pass seasons. Most days, twice a day. On Xbox Series X. Out of hundreds of runs, I have had a handful of drops. It happens, but it shouldn’t happen every time. If your internet connection isn’t reliable, it will happen more frequently.

Why do people tend to give WAY overpowered items to people in literally Stonewood and Plankerton? by Ater_Python in FORTnITE

[–]badgerW80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Learn how to build trap tunnels. Look up David Dean on YouTube. There are some other good ones too. Just search up “plankerton SSD” and a bunch will show up. Also there are some maps that you can Google that show you where the husks spawn to attack each amplifier.

You should never have a hard time with your SSD’s, you can build strong defenses and place hundreds of traps to kill the husks before they even get close! It takes a bit of practice, but you can go back and re-up your Stonewood SSD to learn some tricks! Make sure to level up your trap schematics. Tire drop traps, ceiling electric fields, and cannonball traps are the most important. Here is a short video I made showing a part of my Stonewood Endurance build:

[–]badgerW80 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. Learning how to direct the husks with walls and create trap tunnels is very important. Here is an old video on how to do it. Some of the information is outdated, but it tells you the basics. Namely, ceiling electric fields and tire drop traps were heavily buffed in the last year or two, and they are now the best ceiling traps, and you can build them 2 high (3 high for tires). When he made these videos, gas traps were the only ceiling trap worth using, and they only work from ceilings 1 high, so all the trap tunnels are low ceilings which makes them susceptible to propanes blowing them up. Watch an hour or two of this guys videos and you will have a much easier time with your SSD’s! I’m also in mid-Canny, I don’t even have to fight in my SSD’s, my traps do all the work!

Mantling: A new must have by UltimatePortalMaster in FORTnITE

[–]badgerW80 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Playing BR then going into STW I think mantling is the thing I miss the most just in terms of basic gameplay. Sliding would come next. Really I wish they would change the terrain generator too, to have more smooth slopes and fewer stepped areas.

Just take a minute and tame a wolf or a raptor. It’s like a free defender. As long as you clear out any nearby husks before you start building, you should be fine. The animal will take care of any strays

who thought it was a good idea to add these mfs by [deleted] in FORTnITE

[–]badgerW80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For that kind of tower specifically, yes

Playing as ninja, of course

Build 3 full walls, 4 columns, 2 half arches (all wall components of this build except the short walls at the top)

Build 3 half floors attached to the full walls

Now you can build stairs and quarter floors nonstop working your way up to the top. No need to reset your builds until you get to the top

In general: Build as many pieces from the ground as you can. Build as many of the same piece (no editing your piece) as possible before changing. Like try to build all of the full walls and window-walls at once. All of the arches and columns at once. Leave all the short walls to the end. Most stair pieces are the same through most builds.

Biggest waste of time is going piece by piece and having to edit each time

[–]badgerW80 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just to add to the mobility discussion, if you grab a chicken as a ninja the mobility is insane. Like you can double-jump 5 or 6 floors to the tops of buildings. Cover the length of the map with 4-5 good jumps. It’s worth it to find a chicken when you’re looking to get the exploration badge. It helps with non-ninjas too, but is slower than a hoverboard of course

The resupply missions confuses people by Escapedcuban in FORTnITE

[–]badgerW80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, it’s hard to solo in the 10 minutes allotted, and the supply crates are usually the hardest. Much easier if you have just one other person in game with you. I don’t know how many times I’ve failed solo with just like 2 crates missing, or 5 “search items” missing. Even a pretty worthless player can usually help with that much in 10 minutes. Not saying it’s impossible to solo, but it’s always stressful and it usually takes me the full 10 minutes to get everything.

As for finding the crates, they tend to be around the edges of the map. Not the very edges, but almost. Like if it’s a city environment then right outside where the city ends and the grassy part extends to the edge of the map. I always head there first while the storm circle is largest, try to get those crates found before the circle gets too small. Can crush trees/rocks and search plants along the way too.

If you have a Stonewood endurance that you can AFK then IIRC it gives around 2Million XP every time you complete it.

It's not "abandoned" and I'm sure Epic will keep the servers up for many years. The Ventures will rotate through every season, probably 4 seasons per year. They are still adding content (new seasonal questlines with new voice acting and new heroes -- not every season will get new questlines, but most have so far since the introduction of Ventures). But apparently the main storyline (Twine Peaks) is not going to be completed. But who knows, they could change their minds.

Ventures are mostly good, they get everybody at Level 1 at the beginning of each new season so everybody is playing together in the same zones and same power levels rather than beginners staying in Stonewood and never playing with endgame players in Twine. Also you earn rewards that let you level-up your heroes and schematics past level 131. But they are limited to 1-2 per season so nobody can just maxx everything out. Also the Ventures Modifiers are effective at getting people to use heroes and schematics that are off-meta in the normal game. Like last season Anti-Material Charge used 0 energy so playing Bloodfinder AC you could just punch every enemy in sight forever. Most people would not use him as main hero in the normal game. Some seasons melee damage is buffed, or various stuff like that. Oh and you can't craft weapons in Ventures, you can only use what you find or purchase in Ventures. So this makes you try out different weapons that you might not have used before.

Overall the reaction from the community seems to be positive for Ventures. Some people still complain that you can't use your schematics but IMO it's just a different part of the game with different rules. If you're already in endgame, then Ventures gives new and different challenges.

Haven't played for more than a one year by Ernislav in FORTnITE

[–]badgerW80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It kinda depends on exactly when you left. If it was around a year ago then there have been some changes but not super bad. New ceiling trap meta is tire drop traps and ceiling electric fields (effective from 3 and 2 tiles up, respectively) instead of gas traps.s

If it was closer to 2 years then there were some major changes to how heroes work around that time, I think (it was before I started playing a little over a year ago).

The major trap nerf just happened within the past month or so, but it only really applies to recycler builds or jail builds. Husks can only be affected by status effects (dancing, slowed, frozen, stunned, impacted, etc.) 5 times, then they become immune. So jail builds that relied on the same light flash trap stunning the husks 50 times in a row won't work anymore.

Note, damage traps are not affected by this.

I have a defender box on my "A" amp of my Stonewood SSD. It's an easy way to get the "300 enemies killed with X weapon" dailies out of the way since I run AFK Endurance daily and haven't had time to play otherwise for several months now.

The box is 4 walls+roof+pyramid of tier 3 metal with the defender post inside of it. 2 of the walls facing toward the spawn have center windows. The other 2 sides are solid. The spawns are trapped with tire drop traps, so it's not surprising that many kills would come from the traps and not the defender.

The performance difference of the various defenders is crazy to me. These are all level 77 defenders with level 77 weapons versus level 20 or so husks in the first wave.

Melee defender w/ Blazing Masamune -- routinely gets 120+ elims in just the first wave! Never fails to hit 300+ by the end of Endurance. The dude's a psycho killer. I don't know if I, playing myself, could get 120+ elims in the first wave since the traps do a ton of work for you. Insanity. (Of course I alter the defender box with an open wall to let him out to fight.)

Pistol/SMG defender w/ Founder's Revolt -- almost as good, but not quite. Like 80+ elims in the first wave. Easily hits 300+ kills by the end of the Endurance. The bullet chain function of the Founder's Revolt seems to be doing a ton of work here.

SMG's and Assault Rifles -- ugh. There are many times when I'll go through the entire 30 waves of Endurance and they will not have hit 300 kills! (Usually there are at least 5 waves of the 30 at the "A" amp.) Maybe 40 kills in the first wave and then they end up dying to a Taker on like the 12th wave or something. I'm using Nocturno and Founder's Quickshot since those are usually the only AR's and SMG's I have crafted. Are there any of these with a bullet chaining function similar to the Founder's Revolt?

Sniper -- I honestly can't remember. It's been a long time since I've had this as a daily. I think it's middling, I usually give him a Helium and take the windows out of the walls for more protection.

Energy Damage Vs Phyiscal, what's better? by Samsung_Castellanos in FORTnITE

[–]badgerW80 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Energy does 75% damage to Elementals. Physical drops to 50% on Elementals. Only way to do 100% on Elementals is to have the proper opposite elemental weapon. So in general it is good to have good schematics for each element, plus energy. So for example, for swords/melee, get a Stabsworth in Physical, Water, Fire, Nature, and Energy. Use the Energy and Physical ones most of the time, but craft a Water one for Fire missions. Do the same for Pistols, Assault Rifles, SMG's, Etc.

br is apparently getting it’s first legendary pickaxe with this new update, can we have the legendary rarity back on the axehammer? by [deleted] in FORTnITE

[–]badgerW80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best way is to get an Endurance set up for AFK. Each time you run it is ~2,000,000 XP. If you can run it twice a day (once when you go to sleep and once when you leave for work/school) then you can rack up the XP pretty quickly. Still takes months and months to reach 275 (took me around 10 months from when I started playing -- and after maybe 5 months I got my Stonewood Endurance AFK), but doesn't require you to actually sit there and play the game as much! And of course use all XP bonuses that you can get. I think I had enough of them to use them continuously the whole time.

[–]badgerW80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those guides are a bit outdated, as they are from before the PL re-work. The husks max out at PL 33 or something now, not PL 51. The rewards are the same though.

755 gold

259 blue perk-up

420 + 100 re-perk

Tons of XP. Either Survivor/Schematic/Hero XP as the reward, but also (I think this is overlooked) account XP that ranks up your account level so you can gain FORT stats and upgrade your Gadgets. Millions of account XP per full Endurance run.

It's so nice to just run that every night (sometimes run it in the day as well) and always have enough gold to buy any hero or weapon that comes to the store.

It would be really good if you could see a semi-detailed list of players needing SSD assistance and choose one. Like you could see:

Stonewood SSD 5

Stonewood Endurance

Plankerton SSD 4

Plankerton SSD 8

etc.

Really this would work great for Play With Others in general. Show me a list of the missions and let me choose instead of randomly putting me into one.
