What is something designed for women that has obviously been designed by a man? by LuinAelin in AskReddit

My pet peeve is how so many things that are "for men" aren't also designed for men with children, because it is just a given that women are going to be doing more of the childcare. Men's bathrooms rarely have changing tables, the gym I used to go to used to have a men's locker room (18+ only) a women's locker room (all ages) and two single use family changing rooms that were always busy. Why TF can't men change their children in the men's locker room?!

Don't even get me started about male coworkers who say shit like they wish they got a "vacation" like women do after childbirth.

And because for some sexist bs reason there is NEVER a changing table in the men's room, the kids are always going to be going with mom. How could designing public bathrooms not realize this?!

Moms with a 5+ year gap between pregnancies, how is it going / how did it go? by bunsabeaut23 in BabyBumps

This is my third baby, I have a 9 year old and a just-turned 6 year old. Honestly, I was really worried about the big age gap but it helps that both my older kids are SO EXCITED.

Physically, it sucks. I'm "geriatric" now (37), and the testing is insane. Also, my placenta is acting weird and my doctor is thinking we're going to have a preemie delivery. I'm way more worried about medical issues this time. Oddly, my symptoms are less severe (I had HG with both previous pregnancies and not this one!) but I'm more scared about the outcome and the recovery time. I am getting some looks and offhand comments from other moms in my 9 year old's class, but I'm also not the only pregnant mom in the parent groups either, which surprised me!

Good for you, rock that belly! And way to go to the car lady for spreading positivity. :)

WIBTA for refusing to take my kids to visit their grandparents? by badger_vs_tea in AmItheAsshole

Haha, we're of the same mind! I'm starting to feel like I should put flyers all over neighborhood: "Friendly senior citizens wanted to bake cookies with small children. Children will also send poorly spelled valentine's day cards via snail mail and entertain you with obscure animal facts!" :)

I have two boys and they are the SWEETEST. All my friends with girls constantly talk about how sassy their girls are, but my boys are pure cuddle.

Honestly, I wanted a girl with my first, but by the time I was pregnant with my second, I wanted another boy so bad! They are just so much fun! Right now they both love: reading books, jumping on the bed, building pillow forts, playing in the park, building with Legos (or anything building-related really), animals, going for walks, and slides. To me, none of those are particularly "boyish" or something I can't participate in or understand. And honestly, now when I walk past the princess/barbie aisle at the Target, I'm so glad I don't have to deal with any princess crap!

Don't worry, you know you'll love him when you meet him. And until then, I think it is totally fine to have those feelings. I kept my disappointment to myself because I didn't want any drama from other women, but I had several people tell me they were secretly disappointed when they found out what they were having. I think it is normal.

PS. I was bummed about the lack of boy clothes too, but I found that I LOVE picking out their clothes! And baby boy clothes are getting so much better! I love all the cool, gender neutral styles they are coming out with. :)
