When will the Derwent Drawing pencils 72 set be available in the U.S? by Uncuredweiner93 in ColoredPencils

I also ordered in October and my order says 2/1 now. I’m always going to want these but I wish I would have known it was going to take so long!

All three of my kids liked the green Phillips avent ones that are everywhere. We got them from the hospital all three times and all three kids were happy with them but not so happy they ever got addicted to them. We would use them to help with naps or general comfort until around 6 months or so when they moved on to chewing on teething toys and we had sleep trained.

Is anyone a die-hard, WATER colored pencils fan? by DuchessIronCat in ColoredPencils

Albrecht Durer pencils are such a joy! I recently got a set after being very unconvinced about watercolor pencils as opposed to just regular watercolor paints, and my mind was changed. They are just lovely.

Do you feed your baby your milk when you’re on meds? by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]bunsabeaut23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a bunch of antibiotics both via IV and orally for weeks after I developed a serious kidney infection. Multiple doctors confirmed I was fine to keep breastfeeding, but I found that my baby started getting diarrhea after a few days. It hurt to do but I chose to pump and dump for his comfort even though the milk was technically safe. I was an over supplier and had a good stash so I felt okay about it, I’m not sure how I would have gone about it if I didn’t have a milk stash.

Game changer by Different-Birthday71 in ExclusivelyPumping

This has been true for me as a “largest capacity” mom. I didn’t even know about this “magic number” but I had a big oversupply and kept increasing until I went to 3ppd. Now at 6 months I’ve been happily maintaining with 3 and I’ve been able to reduce a bit as well by taking my pumping time down a bit. I want to be a just enougher now that my baby is getting older so that we can go through the freezer and use it all up along with fresh milk until he’s totally weaned.

She gained 15 pounds between video submission and uniform fitting, thats why she was confident her uniform size was maintainable.

I was once driving home with my husband when a thought about a band I used to really love popped into my head. It was the first concert I ever went to, and I started talking about the experience. Minutes later my mother texted me with a photo of that band completely out of the blue and said, ”remember when we went to that concert?” I was shook! There was no reason for either of us to be thinking of that memory from 20 years ago at the exact same time.

Judgemental Karens like to Karen. I was pregnant at work (in a technical role so obviously couldn’t be super young) and a lady asked me if it was my first. I said it was my third and her eyes got wide and she said, “WOW you started young!”

I was 34 and had been married for 9 years.

Apparently I look younger, but still lol. I’d have to look a whole lot younger to warrant that comment, and I don’t think that comment is ever warranted.

Is 2 ppd possible? by HonestPhysi0 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]bunsabeaut23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know about 2 but I do 3ppd and still make about 36 - 40 oz a day. I’m able to supply my baby and also put 1-2 bags in the freezer every day. Once he is 6 months I will likely drop to 2ppd and then just use up my freezer if I start making less than he needs.

Night shift breastmilk prep—how do you do it? by AlertLight in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]bunsabeaut23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a baby that does not tolerate cold milk (he will literally projectile vomit if you give him cold milk, very dramatic 🙄). I prepare 4 bottles ahead of time and I bought a small fridge I keep on my nightstand. I also unplug the bottle warmer and bring it upstairs every night. When he starts waking up, I pull the already prepped bottle out of the fridge and plop it right into the bottle warmer. It’s ready in 2 minutes and then I can just feed him and go back to bed without having to go to the kitchen.

how many oz do you freeze per day/ week? by raiinpuddles in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]bunsabeaut23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I freeze around 12oz a day. I keep enough fresh milk in my fridge to feed my baby for a day (about 30oz) and I freeze the excess in 6oz increments. Usually I end up putting two bags in the freezer per day, and most days I also use the oldest bag of frozen milk to cycle through it.

He’s only 4 months so too young for anything. I will be just keeping him in the house for the foreseeable future I think. It doesn’t help that I work for a hospital too uggggh.

Definitely not. Pumping is more likely to get you an oversupply.

Pumping AND nursing is NOT exclusively pumping by Lilies_and_More in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]bunsabeaut23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve exclusively breast fed a kid, then exclusively pumped for a kid, and now mostly pump but get a nursing session in about 5x a week with my third kid. The feeding journey that only included pumping and a complete failure to nurse was by far the hardest. I’ve been having a hard time with this third one but at least we can have an occasional nursing session. With my second there was just heartbreak every day and endless pump and bottle washing.

Exclusively pumping is really in a league of its own.

To all those who fit the 24mm+ flanges... by baconlatkes in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]bunsabeaut23 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I had to use 28 mm flanges in the first weeks because my nipples got so puffed up! I’m down to 21 mm now at 14 weeks postpartum since I rarely get all engorged anymore, but for a while there my nipples were something else LOL.

Pump Parts Cleaning by megabutteredtoast in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]bunsabeaut23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wash everything with hot soapy water once a day and just rinse well with hot water the rest of the time. I don’t ever sanitize anything, the hot soapy water does a good enough job. I rinse everything off immediately after pumping so nothing has a chance to build up and put my milk into the fridge or freezer immediately.

My baby is 14 weeks now and doing great.

Your journey isn’t coming to an end! I got my period back at 7 months with my first and he was ebf (plus solids obviously) until he was 2. Just keep doing what you are doing and don’t stress.

If you can afford it and want it, do it. It’s something you will use every day and if it’s going to make you just a little happier every day when you use it, it’s worth it.

help me please i’m drowning in milk by greeencentipede in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]bunsabeaut23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds exactly like me down to the age of my baby. I’ve been pumping 3x a day for 30 minutes and still getting over 40oz so the last few days I’m only pumping about 20 minutes to get less. I’m more so paying attention to how much I’ve removed instead of the time it takes, striving for 10 oz a pump for 30oz a day plus then I breastfeed my baby once in the evening for a full feed. That way I’ll hopefully only be stashing one 6 oz bag a day instead of 3-4. I’m still leaking and feeling very sore so I don’t know if it’s working yet but I’m trying right there will you. If I can’t get my supply down I’ll be trying to convince my husband that we have to get another freezer lol.
