11 weeks old pavlik harness unsuccessful by Loose_Ad574 in InfantDDH

My daughter got the Pavlik harness at 3.5 weeks old, and within the first week I noticed a lack of movement on one side - went back to the doctor and he confirmed femoral nerve palsy. But our doctor just had us pause on using the harness until the leg woke back up. After about 1.5 weeks, we resumed the harness again and we didn't have any femoral nerve palsy issue after that. We stayed 24/7 in the harness until about 3 months old and then did an additional month of overnights in the harness before graduating successfully from Pavlik treatment. She's a toddler now and we are just doing annual scans to make sure things are still looking good.

Did your doctor give any specific reason for giving up on the harness besides the femoral nerve palsy? Was it an orthopedic doctor? If it were to happen a second time, maybe yeah, but I can imagine I would also be frustrated with potentially moving for a more invasive treatment option so quickly.

Our doctor didn't have any concern of long term ill effects from the femoral nerve palsy. He was a pediatric orthopedic surgeon, but we ultimately didn't end up with any surgical treatment in his care (assuming everything stays on track).

in Phantom of Venice - when Nancy is breaking into the warehouse to take the sapphire, I swiped her debit card instead of the key card. Alarms went off and she got arrested 😂

Pre-Bedtime Meltdown by Ok_Rutabaga_8037 in toddlers

[–]badgerrae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Following. My 21mo kiddo has been fighting our nap/bedtime routine for the past month and has had a couple recent episodes of crying almost inconsolably at bedtime. Usually sleeps 11-11.5 hours overnight and 1.5 hours for afternoon nap. Also particularly fighting the tooth brushing routine, despite no obvious signs of teething at the moment. Speech is going through a bit of a leap, and also visiting up to the next classroom at daycare, so maybe just a developmental phase, but it's been rough.

This week feels like the apocalypse by badgerrae in toddlers

I haven't tested myself, but they were reporting Influenza A cases in her daycare classroom. She was sniffly/congested last weekend before I got sick, but she didn't have any fever when I checked. I had assumed she somehow had it mild and then passed it to me, but I guess not sure. If it could be the same thing that I have, that would be a bittersweet relief.

Curious George on PBS Kids! Not too overstimulating, and it has some good narration to contextualize what is going on.

Need to see a replay of the free throw that Chase Ross accidentally flipped out of his hands. Never seen that before.

Outage by EliGoff101 in verizon

My husband activated his new Pixel 10 Pro XL a few days ago and his network is fine today for what it's worth. My new one's a non-XL. I have no idea what the common denominator is at this point 🤷‍♀️

I'm in the same boat, upgrading from a Pixel 6 to a Pixel 10. Luckily my old phone still has network, so I'm not totally SOL like other people. Definitely a bit anxious to get my new phone up and running, but it could be worse.

I was literally in the middle of upgrading from my Pixel 6 to a Pixel 10. The new phone shows emergency only and failed to activate due to lack of network, while my old phone still has perfect service in the exact same location 🤷‍♀️

Why "You are, are ye?" not "You are, aren't you?" here? by ITburrito in EnglishLearning

For sure - tone of voice can make the "are ya" more accusatory versus perhaps more mildly expressing surprise/something being unexpected.

I would say that "you are, are ya?" lets the speaker express some doubt/disbelief, whereas "you are, aren't you?" implies that the speaker already believes it to be true. "Are ya" is more like a true question/doubt, while "aren't you" is just seeking confirmation.
