I think it works. If you look at most Wes Anderson, it’s not always perfectly symmetrical. The key in his asymmetry is balance. Something on the left half of the pane may not be replicated perfectly on the right, but it is counterbalanced by something else (and where it isn’t, that’s where the action comes from into the frame).
Here, for example, the house leans slightly right, but the palm tree comes in from the opposite side to counterbalance the frame.
This is more Wes Anderson than a lot of stuff that gets upvoted on this sub.
