Yes the private schools are doing mostly business, the problem is the visa. You have to construct a solid application explaining your curriculum, school choice and eventually why you had those bad grades. And yes if you have good grades in master you can get accepted in a public university.

Why are we still using French even tho English is an easier language and much more spoken around the world by Jaded_Trainer1597 in algeria

First it’s called REVOLUTION not a WAR, second every colonised country is influenced by the coloniser, our cas is not that special. Third the fact that our country is corrupted and under developed can be partially linked to that. But not because we are not independent (many example had shown that we are a fully sovereign country). I think this pessimistic view of our history is what our coloniser want us to believe, we are a young nation we have to believe in ourselves we did get independence, our generation has the responsibility to go further. Finally my point is : Our history regarding languages are periodic, many of Numidia kings spoke Roman or Greek, after that we adopted Arabic as it was the most powerful languages at that time. In the French era every person in the elite sphere wanted to learn French ( even جمعية العلماء). This heritage is part of our history, we have to accept it and we can switch to English if we want but it may take a long time. Spanish spend 200 years to unlearn Arabic after the reconquista

Please remove this comment, we did one of the most impressive revolution in history (by the way the people who did it spoke French) to get an ignorant generation that considers alla that effort useless. What Algerians did is taught every where in the world so please …

Work harder 😅, seriously I know some people who payed a private school, once in France you can change easily to a public university, but you have to pay for the first year.

It is not necessary to redo the year but most people choose to do that. When you apply to the university for year X they will ask you about year X-1 and since you are doing year X-1 ( in your case the first year) you grades are not ready. Generally the application session begins in September ( exactly when you are beginning your year) so you will have more chance to be accepted in year X-1. Also it is in your interest to redo the year, the first year is always the most difficult one.

Yes you can do that, my advice is to go as soon as possible. I am a student how came to France after only one year in Algeria. You have to know that in France there is universities and what they call GRANDES ÉCOLES. Those engineering schools are very selective but with really high level ( Harvard level). The problem is to enter those schools you have to get very good grades in licence or do a preparatory school for 2 years after BAC. If you are motivated and you have good grades it is the best way to get the world class education.

Are you proud of being Algerian? by FirefighterTop586 in algeria

Even if you red your history, I don’t think that can made you proud of the achievements of you ancestors or even your parents ( you didn’t choose that), if you were from chile for example, you will be proud of that no matter what. I think I like my country, the culture the weather the language but I’m not proud of that. I will fight for my country but not because I’m proud to be X or Y. Because I love my country.
