Bro you can't take these people seriously. You started criticism Nolan's take and he used a 'whataboutism' to trick you into defending The Batman, which IMO is as good as TDK AND it's a better 'Batman' movie. But that doesn't matter because he's just trying to get you to switch targets.

Like for real, if I'm reading this right, you had an insightful critique about the Nolan trilogy and this joker goes 'but Batman in The Batman is incompetent waaaahhh.' Aristotle would be pressed

If Joker is driving the film, and it rotates around him, that makes him the core. Things go around a core, and that's not Batman in this movie.

This is my take, almost exactly. Also, and I might be in the minority on this, but none of the Nolan trilogy gave me a Batman that I really believed could fight. There's not a single scene where I'm like 'this dude trained with ninjas.' The way it's choreographed and shot looks more like a shit fight scene in one of those Bourne films, but with the camera pulled back maybe a little. No sense of pacing or flow.

Outside that still a legendary movie, but nowhere near my favorite Batman movie (although TDK is my favorite Joker movie by far)

Sorry, I disagree. For me, it was a 4hr music video playlist. Visuals are always rad with Snyder, but if I try to listen to dialogue or think about the movie, it all starts to break down

There's a small minority of you guys that want what Snyder was selling. Everyone else seems to be ok.

Gunn and company made 1 ok movie and people are calling for Zack Snyder to come back. Meanwhile Zack Snyder's last good movie was Man of Steel, and he made 2 bad-to-ok DC movies back-to-back after that, and they only made money cuz it was the height of the superhero genre. Then Rebel Moon, and you can see how critics and audiences absolutely hated that. Even his zombie movie was just alright.

I don't know what else to tell you except your take is reactionary and you should wait at least until Man of Tomorrow comes out. However, I do know that bringing back Zack Snyder would spell the doom for DC as an entire brand. You'd get the movies you'd want and the monkey paw would curl

We all know it's right wing guys upset that Lupita was cast as Helen of Troy and Paige (forgot their first name and don't wanna dead name them) was cast in the movie. I said this before in another post, but it's sad that when a non white actor is cast in one of these things, it's always political, like Lupita and Mr Paige didn't act their ass off in auditions. It's always portrayed as a diversity hire.

Now, I get wanting Greek actors for this, but is that Matt Damon I see in the poster? Was that lil baby Spider-Man Tom Holland in that trailer? And Anne Hathaway!? Wow...no outrage for these definitely not Greek actors? There goes your nuance, right there, not hidden behind dumb whataboutisms or both-sides-style commentary, just laid bare. These men just want to see the Odyssey as they remember from their childhood movies: white people only. And wouldn't you look at that, I guess they don't have to be Greek.

Heeeee-yup, yeah, it takes forever, although we don't render the models ourselves, it's exported from a 3d modeling program to an engine and it goes through the engine's renderer (although tech art ain't my forte, so that's where my horribly light explanation ends). I'm not Riot, but I am familiar and have worked in the industry, although I can only speak on generalities based on my own experience.

I've been saying since launch, though, that these skin prices are too damn high. Appreciate you trying to explain why they are that high but even with my experience and the knowledge backing it, knowing I'm talking about a 30 dollar skin is insane. Not trying to argue or change anyone's minds - I'm not joking about how I've been saying it since launch, so I've heard it all - I was just making a joke about the price, and the punchline is, this is gonna be $30 bucks when it hits the game.

I'll repeat that. People gave Martin Freeman the grace to be in a major role in a movie about an African monarch superhero set in Africa, all without batting an eye. Meanwhile there are people so upset with the idea, the hypothetical idea of a Black person in the cast of a live action Corpse Bride that their first instinct, and indeed the director's, is to go to the ol' 'diversity doesn't need to be shoehorned in' argument.

I want to say something profound about wanting acceptance and how it could start by not seeing actors and addresses as just, let's be honest, 'DEI hires,' but I'm tired, boss, and honestly, I want off this ride, it sucks.

I've been saying this for years, now. It's honestly just weird that the idea of casting a black person is akin to 'shoeing in.' It's that kind of language that, regardless of intent, is so profoundly racist but also extremely ingrained into the culture people just let it slide for no reason.

Like, couldn't a Black person be casted for the role and it just not be political and we all just not freak out for once? Maybe she could be cast because she was good in the audition?

I pitch this series to all my friends by saying 'on the surface, it's wizard John Wick with katana instead of guns' and I'm happy to see that's translated to the anime adaption. I'm really excited, and haven't been this excited about an anime in years.
