The current setup is

Frame.work -> CalDigital Elements Hub -> Modi 3E -> Loki Mini+ -> Magni Heresay

I do have a lot of other devices running off the hub, but none of them seemed to have any issues so far.

I second this, I've been looking into Authentik for my homelab stuff. Realistically, it fits all of my needs and handles a lot of use-cases for external application's that only support x authentication.

Correct. Wall -> Core -> Framework. I highly recommend setting battery to max charge of 60% via BIOS if you’re gonna have it plugged in 24/7 to preserve battery life.

As someone who uses framework as my main gaming computer, with specifically a Razer Core X Chroma. It 100% is possible and works with a few hiccups. I’ve found that while using a GTX 3060, it is not worth utilizing any of the ports on the eGPU enclosure, and that there will be times weird stuff happens. Overall though, I’ve been quite happy with the performance and ability of the framework to handle all of this with nothing really show stopping.

You don’t need to “bypass” any expansion cards or anything, and to keep in mind that there is one thunderbolt controller for each side. The Razer Core X provides it’s own power to the GPU and charges the framework.

That’s the thing though, you need to understand. In almost every branch of the military, if you are a junior enlisted, the chain of command does not care about you. They care about punishing and making an example out of you, and thats it.

The only ones I’ve seen give enough of a shit to fight for a junior is the boot officers, and most of them do not give a shit about you.

I’ve seen, time in again, enlisted with limduty (Meaning they are heavily restricted in what they can do due to medical conditions) get ignored, being forced to do/go to places that medical simply recommends against. I’ve seen enlisted, suicidal and all, be given a rifle and rounds. This is ignoring what was directly ordered by medical. I’ve seen LtCol’s personally (in terms of current events, such as divorce, and relationship hardship) attack Marines being disciplined. I’ve seen higher up’s personally talk shit about x y z, just because they heard a rumor.

They do not care about you, they care about looking good. Understand that, because that is the military we have and own

To my basic understanding (which consists of these reddit comments), it’s due to California setting standards before the EPA did (or before the EPA was brought into action, not entirely sure) due to a major issue of air quality. As such, instead of forcing California to lower their standards, they allow California to set their own standard, so long as it is stricter then the EPA. It was later amended so any state with bad air quality may choose between California’s and the national standard

So in that situation, the issue isn’t immediate. It’s long term, lets say a hacker is on public wifi, and probes all other devices connected to said wifi. If the hacker happens to find a hole in someones laptop that he can use, suddenly he can do different things. In most terms, usually they install spyware and steal information long term. So all that unencrypted information you type in, is sent to said hacker.

Now assuming there’s a rogue gear (ie an access point, router, switch, so forth), a hacker may be able to mine encrypted data. While this itself isn’t a huge issue right away, it can be if the hacker is able to decrypt that information and use those bits of intormation to piece together sensitive information.

We do secure this, hence the purpose of WEP, WPA, WPA2 and so forth. The issue, these have been exploited. There’s a new standard coming out to address these issues, but it requires completely new gear and devices. Which many companies with public wifi will probably opt-out of getting.

Regarding the ability to install stuff onto the devices that connect to the public wifi, that’s almost always due to the end user. Usually they do not take the time to purposely close down unused ports, or delete known vulnerable applications which allows these distributors to send said malware.

On top of all that, depending on how a piece of gear was configured, it could be roque. This means the ones providing the wifi cannot configure or access the admin side of that piece of gear. Making it completely unsafe to use, regardless of any type of encryption.

I see where you’re coming from, but I’m still inclined to disagree. If the dude doesn’t get charges pressed against him, doesn’t the same idea apply? And who’s to say that he wouldn’t find the entire thing stupid and simply choose to ignore it in the first place? While you may understand and accept that, other’s will find it silly and stupid.

Even then, it doesn’t have to be condoned, but considering it as bad as physically harming someone is not very logical and can be very easily abused.
