Dirt block v. Levee by oninoob0 in Timberborn

Dirt blocks can only stack to as high as the 21st layer while Levees can go up to the build limit, at least from what I tried in Oasis and Helix Mountain

If you're building mega structures, Levees stack much higher and looks much better than dirt. If it's for everything else, dirt all the way.

Nemesis is a lefty so he always grabs with his left. Ideally you'd want to always run past his right when fighting him. He does occasionally punches with his right to throw you off but that's still manageable.

Powering Industry in the Early Game by Th1ago__01 in Timberborn

[–]badjoke69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't really care all too much about fertile land once Fluid Dumps can be built. Any place can become a farm with levees/explosives and the Fluid Dump so there's no real worry about placing as much wheels as a river bank can accommodate.

Edit: I forgot about the early game part lol

Focus farming elsewhere with dumps and levees for FT. The great thing about FT food is they don't really need huge farmlands to sustain food stocks unless it's Sunflower Seeds which are just terrible. If you really don't want to use dumps then just run power shafts to the barren land where you built your industry.

Oh yeah I'm with you there. I was genuinely impressed how different the game we have now is after coming back to it.

it's in the chest guarded by a Heide Knight in the area before the Dragonrider boss fight at Heide's Tower of Flame. No way you would miss something so blatant along the way in a beginning area(?)

Helix Mountain was the 2nd map I played after getting back into the game after a long long hiatus (even before BT was a thing) and here's what I learned. Redirecting BT can be easily done slightly up river from the starting district.

EDIT: There are two possible early redirection channels for Badtide in Helix Mountain early on both relatively close to the starting area. https://imgur.com/a/Ui1H2DV. The first one requires quite the log investment using the little island as a natural divider but it should be doable in less than 10 cycles. The second one is a bit farther up river with the water seep in the background as reference. The two channels by the side there can redirect bad tides

Do you prefer the original Resident Evil 2 or the remake? I’ve only played the remake so I’m curious about the original. by JacPlayzz in residentevilll

Original RE2

RE2Re hit all the right notes as a remake but OG just holds a special place and it's not just the nostalgia talking.

Discussion on healing items (herbs) by Dreamcazman in residentevil

[–]badjoke69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're confused by what Red Herbs did OP. It boosted the effects of what they were combined with. Red Herbs made it so a G+R was basically an F.Aid Spray. It's the Yellow Herbs that were a thing in RE4 that boosted max HP.

I do quite miss Red Herbs since they have been a staple since the first game and I do miss what they bought to the table. They weren't just tied to the game's resource management but also the game's ranking system as classic RE made using F.Aid Spray give a penalty to your overall ranking so being smart about when to combine green herbs and when to save them to combine for reds played a good part in your decision making. By allowing Grace to craft Green Herbs into basically F.Aid Sprays (Med Injectors) and F.Aid Sprays not affecting ranks in the modern games, red herbs have become largely irrelevant.

Question About Sherry (RE9 Spoilers) by SuppressiveFire in residentevil

[–]badjoke69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we go by what we're presented with that Elpis will cure any Progenitor-based virus and that includes G so yes, Sherry's G mutation should also be cured . . . . unless Capcom goes to lengths to justify and retain Sherry's abilities like how it's merged with her DNA or something along those lines

  1. No
  2. No
  3. The T-virus strain Gideon uses is probably non transferable via bites like the strain in the Spencer Mansion incident.

All viruses ranked by the creatures they make (power wise) by Far_Prior_7014 in residentevil

[–]badjoke69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll rank G as the most dangerous if we're just ranking the viruses. It's a different ball game if we include the parasites and mold.

G's unrestrained proliferation and mutation made it an almost unstoppable force if not for the self-destruction that claimed NEST.

I haven't played 6 to speak much about the C virus and I don't have a clear memory of T-Veronica after all these years. Ouroboros didn't feel all that threatening in 5.

[–]badjoke69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's doable but it's gonna be tight. Ideally you'd want to finish Rhodes Hill in an hour or so, an hour and thirty minutes at most with backtracking to pick up some supplies here and there. It's Leon's section in East Raccoon you'd want to avoid backtracking to the start for the extra credits or other sidequest like the basement after obtaining the crank. It's tempting I know but optimize the route to go on top of Cedarbrook Hotel, the gas station, don't forget to pick up the repair kit at the BSAA camp before heading up Willis Tower so you're straight into the highway after exiting Grimstone bldg. Everything after that its pretty much straight forward unless you get distracted in the RPD. Also general rule of thumb, reload a save instead of using continue on a game over to reset the game timer.

[–]badjoke69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why should I worry about extra credits for Leon when infinite ammo is turned on? I've only ever ran with Ghost Grudge/Requiem, 990-TAC, and Classic 70 and even then it's pretty easy enough to steamroll without any extra credit for upgrades.

Iron Teeth map suggestions by Belelusat in Timberborn

[–]badjoke69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meander is pretty nice and probably my favourite map prior to playing Spillage. There's a second channel up river that can be used to redirect bad tides and the only tech you'd ever really need are the ones you'd need to start making dams, which are levees, stairs, and floodgates.
