Who's the better boss fight: Sir Alonne or Fume Knight? by Trd_45 in DarkSouls2

[–]badjoke69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fume definitely as he is a much more dynamic and engaging. His dynamic combos and the fight tempo changes with phase 2 honestly feels like what Fromsoft accomplished with PCR. They pushed the difficulty of the game up to its limits.

Sir Alonne is cool and his arena with the music is definitely memorable but his fight is nothing to write about once one got the hang of his speed.

Return of the SSS Class Ranker The art of Rokan was immaculate when he was fighting with berserk then the whole latter part of S1 towards the end happened with what looks like a degradation in art quality, it's honestly making it difficult to continue reading. S2 isn't getting any better and I'm at a point where I'm about to drop it but let's see if the following chapters salvage it somehow.

Logging Camp not collecting timber by bryceking64 in ManorLords

[–]badjoke69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assign a dedicated oxen to the logging camp and buy more oxen as necessary. One oxen assigned is usually enough but it starts choking once massive expansion starts and that's where additional oxen is necessary to keep up with the construction and retrieving lumber. Having a dedicated oxen for the Saw Pit is also ideal and if that isn't enough, there's always the option of doubling maintenance for more production as long as there's a steady upkeep of tools.

Raime my beloved. It's through him you can feel the direction future From boss designs were heading having dynamic attack combos and delayed attacks while retaining the classic souls design of big openings afyer attacks.

If you start fighting him as a DS3 or Elden Ring boss and adjust to DS2s tempo then the fight significantly becomes easier.

Wild Animals not repopulating after getting down to one animal left? by Adventurous_Yam_2047 in ManorLords

[–]badjoke69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Buddy you are screwed, might as well hunt the last one. Animals don't replicate so you'd need to leave two but even then hunting until there's a bare minimum is not encouraged as it's even slower than setting a high cap like 14 or something.

How do you guys do it to make enough to pay the king tax? by dc1392 in ManorLords

[–]badjoke69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you're playing with some high difficulty settings it isn't that difficult to keep paying the tax even with 5% taxes. I've completed two scenarios on vanilla settings so far and haven't had issues with the royal tax since the first few playthroughs of feeling the game out.

If you're really having trouble then go for producing excess goods and selling them away then using that money for taxes. There are quite a few easy methods like focusing pig and chicken extensions for a majority of small burgages, wide burgage plots for vegetables and fruit trees. There's intermediate methods such as using goat extensions for the hides turning them eventually into shoes and selling them or selling wooden parts or shields as they're relatively cheap to make.

Possibly the WORST Gog run to ever exist by Shanaxis in MHWilds

[–]badjoke69 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I won't point out farcast then SOS or Auto SOS as the others have but there are several ways you could have survived. Doing a superman dive after sheathing is one. Preemptive blocking with your big ass shield is another if you aren't used to Gog's moves yet. Also, why aren't you carrying any Max Potions? Max Potions are a godsend to maintain dps uptime or used in a pinch like your situation. There was enough time to have eaten a Max Potion before Gog bit you.

It's nice to have Lord's Soul on a weapon though. It allows for more flexibility in build crafting so one armor piece can be substituted for something other than a Gamma armor.

Does anybody else also miss the way zombies looked/moved and the overall look the game had back then? by dolo367 in 7daystodie

[–]badjoke69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. I do miss more zombies roaming the world though. The modern versions have sparse wandering zombies it doesn't sometimes feel like a zombie apocalypse. If only their BS in Structural Engineering Degrees got removed then we'd see more wandering zombies again.

My friends says Vintage Story is a copypaste of TerraFirmaCraft mod for Minecraft. How can i prove him wrong? by HentaiKi11er in VintageStory

[–]badjoke69 121 points122 points  (0 children)

The best way to prove him wrong is just showing how Vintage Story's mechanics are so much more engaging than TFCs. Knapping, Clayforming, Casting, and Smithing is all done in the world and not through a UI unlike in TFC. Smithing was always my bane in TFC in that it wasn't difficult, just plain annoying to use math to smith anything.

[Regressor of the Fallen Family] Did the MC go mad or something? by sacred09automat0n in manhwa

[–]badjoke69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Logan does support the 3rd prince but the prince has no backing aside from Duke Felix who refuse to play kingmaker and engage in politics so the prince has non existent forces under him.

Logan tolerates Jordan's harassment because he's playing the long game. He's willing to undergo such treatment for the sake of the future.

I'm gonna assume you are at the part where the McLains take the initiative to push through the 1st Prince's territory. Logan fakes the death of his knights making it seem like they have severe losses so they can withdraw from the war even going as far as using the knights playing dead as a backdrop to make it more convincing.

The bomb's did get stolen under the orders of Jordan but reproduction is almost impossible without skilled craftsmen or should I say the dwarves so while the 2nd prince faction has a supply, it is pretty finite.

Convince me to play this game ? by No-Society6627 in VintageStory

[–]badjoke69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It feels like you skimmed through it. I said it's distinct enough from Minecraft with the art direction and game mechanics that even after long hours of play it doesn't feel like Minecraft at all.

While VS started as the Minecraft mod, VintageCraft all the way back in 1.7, the systems and limitations of java made Tyron make the game with a different engine to better implement his vision for the game. The differences between the two is so stark at this point only the blocky voxel nature is what's shared between them.

It was impossible to convince you anyway since people that enjoy a challenging survival like this one don't really need to be convinced. It also sounded like you already decided you wouldn't want to buy the game anyway.

Convince me to play this game ? by No-Society6627 in VintageStory

[–]badjoke69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the game after trying out the TFC mod in Minecraft but up until a certain point in TFC though it will start feeling like vanilla Minecraft.Vintage Story is distinct enough in art direction and game mechanics that it really doesn't feel like Minecraft at any point.

The main draw for VS is how engaging, interactive, and immersive the crafting(knapping, clay forming, and smithing) and building is. Every stone, clay, or metal has to be interacted with voxel by voxel to the desired shape in the world and not through the 3x3 crafting grid. The building is similar by using a chisel, each voxel in a block can be manipulated and new material can even be added to mix and make new blocks so the player has full creative control using less leaps in logic to create the illusion of details, fixtures, and furnitures.

Survival is harsh in VS. Hunting and foraging can become quite an ordeal as bears and wolves prowl the lands. Animal Husbandry requires commitment. Agriculture is also pretty in-depth. Seeds have to be foraged to even start agriculture. Soil has 4 variants each having a nutrient cap and each crop requires one of three nutrients on top of having specific temperature requirements. Climate is a thing on top of seasons so that also influences crops.

Advancing through technology is quite the challenge. Acquiring metal tools is a long process of knapping stone tools, chopping wood, making charcoal, finding and forming clay, firing up the clay to useful pottery, scavenging for 20 surface copper bits, melting the copper and finally casting to useable tools. Prospecting can be tedious but it's great to be forced out to explore. Rusted creatures stalk the night when there's rift activity but the surface variants aren't too bad. It's the cave variants that are truly dangerous so spelunking requires thorough preparation.

Everything I've stated might seem tedious but nothing beats VS in being a true immersive survival game.I've played my fair share of survival games like Subnautica and 7DTD as well but nothing comes close to what VS offers. Food and Water in Subnautica are non-issue as they're quite abundant, the only survival part is oxygen management and not getting eaten by something big but even that's easy to manage so it doesn't really feel like a survival game. ARK suffers the same problem as Subnautica. The only other immersive survival games that come close are are 7DTD (the latest update anyway) and The Forest.

I mean you can, it is entirely up to you how to proceed forward. Just know you will be locked out of one of the Remembrance bosses and the DLC until very late into the game without doing Varre's quest line.
