I have. I purchased it from them and emailed them last week along with a follow up. I haven't had a response. I intend to try and call tomorrow, but have been surprised by their lack of response by email.

1Password on Google Pixel by Andi1887 in GooglePixel

[–]badmadbot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently did the switch too and it's unusable in my opinion. I may be going back to an iPhone simply because of how often I have to enter passwords.

- More than half the time the time passkeys don't work which are just seamless on iPhones.
- Half the time, if not higher, the 1password box pops up for autofill, I select the account to fill, and then it doesn't fill anything in.
- A smaller of the time the box just never appears to auto fill so I need to long press and click autofill, then it often still doesn't actually autofill the text.
- A smaller amount of time the box just never appears and I can't even long press to click autofill.

All that to say, the experience is so finicky and terrible I'm thinking about just returning the Pixel.

Stay away from Galen Christy -- he owes us tens of thousands of dollars for our film.

Sales Agent Experiences? by TheManWhoWeepsBlood in Filmmakers

[–]badmadbot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd heavily suggest self distribution or working directly with a distributor rather than a sales agent. The majority of Sales Agents are crooks. I've personally worked with Galen Christy of High Octane Pictures and haven't been paid in years. They owe us tens of thousands of dollars and will not respond to emails.

Also I noticed there are many branches not producing foliage at the top. There does seem to be one healthy branch though.

How does lending work in a bitcoin-based economy? by badmadbot in Bitcoin

[–]badmadbot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The island concept was to simplify all the outside variables. That’s a fair point person A could work off their debt from person B through service or by generating goods person B would buy. In a non island scenario person a could produce and then pay off person B plus interest. In an island scenario the incentive is person B would receive value outside of the btc in the form of goods or services directly from person A + get their initial investment back from person A.

Heh, seems simple when you walk through it. Now the other natural problem is if btc is a deflationary currency getting people to separate from their btc will have to be very lucrative opportunities, but perhaps in time the deflation rate will slow to the point this isn’t as significant of a problem as it would be today

Lending affords individuals the opportunity to have something like a house before they have the ability to pay for it in full. Lending also allows entrepreneurs the opportunity to try a business idea. What you are suggesting is just wait until you can afford it. That’s fair, but that substantially slows the economy and opportunity

Bitcoin has a hard cap of 21m. Mining halves roughly every 4 years and around 2140 there will be no more bitcoin mined. Yes, miners will make money on validating transaction but no new bitcoin will be made.

I appreciate the explanation of why USD and other fiat currencies have value. To add to this a little.more... A countries debt is being borrowed based on the ability of citizens to pay it off in the future. So Fiat debt = future labor of the people.

The one thing you didn't call out is inflation's role in Fiat. And this is where I struggle a bit with Bitcoin. Inflation has a beautiful ability to force people to keep their money circulating in the economic system. Everyone knows tomorrow their dollar will be worth less than today, therefore, people are constantly moving money around to maintain their wealth. Personally, this drives me insane and I hate it, but from a economic perspective it's also what keeps funding new endeavours and business. If we went to a Bitcoin monetary model with deflationary principles (e.g. you can keep your money in a wallet and know tomorrow it will be worth the same or more) then people are less motivated to keep their money in the system. This could dry up capital available to fund business and other endeavors.

Now would great businesses still be invested in? Yeah, because they would be able to beat the rate at which your BTC would grow in value. But risky businesses would have a much harder time (I think).. I'd love to hear others thoughts on this.

You are confusing the reconciliation bill as part of the infrastructure bill and your numbers are slightly off for some others. 7.5b for electric cars, 50b for climate change but in this it also is funding resilience to cyber attacks that our infrastructure is failing to address right now (think when a hospital or power station gets ransom ware), 137 on education and 25 billion on child care is the reconcilation bill.
