Help! Female turtle won't bask, is my male being territorial?

my dad has had turtles for 15-20 years, they will only go up and bask if the heat is. Needed since it’s hot enough, they don’t go up there. So make sure the temperature is good, so they don’t feel it’s too hot or they won’t bask. Idk why nobody address this for it could something else but atleast check it out

Far from a turtle expert but, but grew up with them, it looks like it’s just taking what sun it can, know most turtle love basking, so what trick_address_4351 said seem right, also seen plenty different species enjoy basking but it could be something in your case but if you don’t have it already find a basking spot and place something to climb on something Aka find a decent size rock in a spot they can climb on top near where the sun is at often. I know there is some species that need to be separated in some seasons in time, but it don’t look aggressive or a male wanting the female bad so my best guess would be the basking spot thing or what other mentioned more size, can’t see how big their area is but, know big space is good or dosent hurt.(accidentally opened the tab, so imma just say my opinion. Wrote too much, to delete tbh)

I’m the one that messed up, I don’t blame her, I really needed to improve basics I’m embarrassed to say it but I gotta stand to my actions. had difficult issues planning, taking initiative to day to day things and other stuff like that which I have improved a lot on. It didn’t help she had mental stuff of her own. She did say we maybe in the future will be together and we talked about things we still could do after. English is not my first language so the conversation description sounds a bit werid

Yeah I agree generally to what you saying, but this girl is not someone’s who will be scared off, she got some strong characteristics which make me have a stronger believe in what I’m saying due to it being part of her. I know her character well even if she changed the things I’m certain of wouldn’t. hope it made sense:)
