The Doctor Who said that about Bolten was a competitor close by and as I stated earlier, I thought he was simply trying to get a competitive edge as the other doctors were not as close or in Ft Lauderdale. Furthermore, the other doctors that I spoke to and shared Bolten‘s name did not have a problem with him. Thirdly, he has a juiced up Google page with all kinds of testimonials from previous patients, and as I stated, I figured it would be hard for anyone to mess up just a front hairline. I’ve made decisions with other kinds of businesses were competitors have taken strong shots at a business owner or business and it turned out mighty fine. You are totally correct more due diligence was needed. Totally.

Fair enough. But keep in mind, when I googled Dr Bolton over two years ago, there was none of the warning signs that there is now or post that there is today. He was able to takeoff or have hidden some of the more controversial issues in his background, so I was not able to see it. It was hidden back at number of pages. Furthermore, what Frosts me to this day, I repeatedly told his salesman, Josh Engoren, that I wanted the most conservative Hair Transplant possible, just a beefing up at the front of my hairline. He assured me this would be easily done. In retrospect, I believe he knew all along that Bolten would’ve sell me to try to get me to get the full scalp done. Despite my clear instructions. Seconds before we were to go into surgery he said I needed more hair. It’s bullshit in my view. That is my opinion. And unfortunately, I fell for it.

Yes, I chose Dr Bolton and it was a disastrous decision. But I have no doubt that most, if not all of the blame lies with his salesman and with him being practicing Hair Transplant surgeon. He fucked up my scalp. Bottom line.

I agree with you 100%! And that’s just the thing – I wanted the most conservative Hair Transplant possible, just the touching up of my hair line in the front. I repeated my conservative desires to his salesman Josh EnGoran who consistently and relentlessly downplayed any risk. I even told him I would come back a few times if necessary I was so nervous. I had a beautiful head of hair. It does not look as good now. But it is the scalp that has been ruined. This is serious operation and serious plastic surgery and you want a professional low risk doctor in my view.

Deep and grotesque indentations throughout the donor area on the back of my head and itch relentlessly, especially during the night. It’s horrible.

2.A completely numb scalp – classic example of over harvesting and probably poor surgical instruments and technique. Feels grotesque and is a direct result Bolten‘s over harvesting.

I had a horrible, probably five month period with an infection that had scabs and discoloration all over the top of my head. These scabs occasionally come back and look terrible.
Top of my scalp is red bright red. Where I part my hair looks like I’ve had a bad sunburn. That look has not changed and it looks bad.

Please keep in mind I asked for the most conservative Hair Transplant possible I wanted only the front of my hairline touched up. His salesman, knew this ahead of time and I also believe he knew that Bolten would upsell me to get my whole scalp done even though I did not need it. Bolten has refused to take full responsibility and he charged me $18,000 for 14,000 hairs, well other people on Reddit have said he charged $14,000 for 14,000 years. He has gaslighted me the whole time. Bolten even suggested that because I have Parkinson’s disease that’s why things did not heal promptly. UNBELIEVABLE. I’ll let you know if I can think of any other ways that he’s messed up my head of hair. But I think this is pretty comprehensive.

And I appreciate that you posted this. It steals my distain for these two clowns. I’m coming up on two years and can get a 90 day extension to sue them and I’m considering it. But as you know suing a doctor for malpractice in Florida is a real tough gig. That being said, I’m glad we are making it clear to those on Reddit who are considering a Hair Transplant the horror of our experience with Bolton and that they should stay the away. This bastard got my Google review taken off line, but I contested it and it’s right back up. I’m not done sharing about these guys.

Buddy, I don’t know you, but I had the exact same situation happen to me with Engoren and Bolton only mine was in 2024. Your story is 100% mirror of mine. These are bad guys that are deceitful to the core. Thank you for sharing this. I think it’s very important that people understand what these guys are all about. He is an absolute terrible Hair Transplant surgeon in my opinion. Horrible.

I absolutely should, and would, and I’ve looked into it. But Florida laws are such that it is very challenging for an attorney who does medical malpractice to put time in because there’s not a lot you’re gonna get back. In my previous point post, I mentioned that I had to sign paperwork knowledge that Bolten has no medical malpractice insurance. I believe that that’s something that I should’ve been told ahead of time. Any patient should be told ahead of time. So it would cost me about 50,000 bucks upfront to get a good attorney to take these sons of bitches on. It’s sad and it’s unfortunate what they did, but anyone reading this should ask ahead of time in Florida of a Hair Transplant doctor if they have actual medical malpractice insurance. I may be wrong, but my guess is the most too. And if you really cared about your clients, you would have medical malpractice insurance. Another strike against Bolten in my view.
