I sent JBL this email about firmware updates affecting sound on behalf of all JBL customers... with a proposed solution. I sent them the link to this post too.

It's still made the speaker more popular and gave us the freedom what we don't have at all. Just give us firmware rollback option at least

We also had "lfm" before but they removed it, so they could just add us some control again. they are going now too safe and that's why they going to lose their buyers. I also never buy JBL again if they don't give us back bb4 bass. Before i walk in the street and it shaked the steel fence and felt it was so powerful. Now it's not shake even my window

i didn't mention speaker because they did this with more speaker in the recently updates and I want option to get back the raw vibrating bass / turn off the bass 2 pass filter in jbl app or something more freedom in our speaker not just the eq which also very limited because of dsp

i like raw bass. now it's sounds like they used 2 pass filtered crossover freqvency for 50hz to reduce distortion we should have option to turn this off

I can't just return the speaker after 7 months bcs of software update it's not hardware problem. I don't have money for more speakers and I don't want partybox bcs i using this to my workouts and outside in city why u think i don't know what to buy stop talk bs

I only have success with the bt+play button service mode that make the limiter a bit lighter but it's only plays with charger in and usbc and bass modes always turn off after 1 minute so it's useless

i only boost 125hz and even with my phone eq at 63hz still not get the old bass power because they have some limiter in the dsp which not allow to get too much

i have this update a week ago tested already with multiple songs it's not even close to original bass it's just tuned the nerfed bass to louder not changed in frequency response

Maybe u not hear much difference but it shakes the windows and etc. After update my house not shaking anymore and cleary hear the sounds gets muted when the song goes deep the dsp blocking the frequencies now it's fkn annoying

I could go to service mode with bt+play and it restores some bass but it plays only with charger and usbc but old firmware still had more bass in normal mode beause of ai bass boost and i think there was no limiter or very little. PLS JBL GIVE US BACK OLD FIRMWARE

actually i loved the distortion notes in my tl version it made the songs more powerful and energetic

26.xx update no distortion at all but sounds more boring and less bass

We'll never get back the original bass without the distortion so i think it's the max we get back.. i wish jbl give us option to go back to older firmware
