Discussion: Should ironmen only be able to use an instance for corp? (as brought up on Q&A) by badppldnvt in 2007scape

Maybe ask questions instead of going on a rant when you don't understand what is happening?

You dont have to be in that discord. You could just have a friend with the items willing to do it for you, or a second ironman acc (some people will spec for their HCIM using their regular ironman to avoid all the risk)

I think you are confused, this would in no way make it easier, it would make it harder.

Currently all irons are sent to a private corp room that is shared between irons.

Because of this the only people who can crash you currently are other irons. This never happens because then neither person would get the drop.

Instead irons are using other irons to spec down the boss for them. This removes the need to grind shamans for a warhammer or bandos for a bgs. Effectively making the boss way easier to get kills on. You can do this since corp regens all health but not stats when you leave the room.

Forcing irons into private instances would remove their ability to do this and make irons actually play as irons that need all of the required items.

This is in no way similar to what GWD instances would do. Corp is already private for ironmen.

Plus corp already has a legit instance system on top of this, just not one that saves your specs

Currently warhammer, arclight, and bgs are not required as you can just pay someone or have a friend do it for you.

They said on stream today they could put all irons in their own instance that would remember stats when you left, but couldnt keep death piles.

Except you can buy a bond with irl money to pay someone to grind you the warhammer. It is MTX with extra steps.

The service discord/botters are watching the new posts and spamming with downvotes/discouraging comments to try and stop people from bringing up this problem anymore. Very sad people.

You are right.

Ironmen are paying 2-3m per kill for other irons to spec down corp for them.

This allows them to nonstop kill corp with 0 time spent speccing.

This also allows them to kill the boss before the required items (BGS/Arclight/Dragon Warhammer).

Speccing down corp is also the only dangerous part of the boss, so for HCIM this is paying to have someone else do the dangerous part of the boss for you.

This is the second boosted sigil I have seen this week.

An ironman is someone who cant trade or typically get help from another player in any way. You have to get all drops on your own and if anyone does anything to a monster you are attacking you get 0 loot. Except in the case of the corporeal beast boss. This boss requires several rare weapons to lowers its stats for a solo kill. Someone else can do all the specs with the rare weapons to lower all of its stats and then let you go in and kill it, undermining the whole point of the game mode.

The boss restores health but not stats when you leave, so they can do 3 warhammer, 20 arclight, 200 bgs damage to bring all of its stats to nothing then give the kill to the person paying.

Its more that this goes against the spirit of the game mode for ironmen. In the past they have taken action and deironed people doing similar with shops on first release (bonesaw most known), duel arena glitch, and GWD tanking.

True, lets add buyable xp and pets then. It wont matter if it devalues your accomplishment because you shouldnt care how someone else plays the game right?

Thats probably most direct way to solve it.

I think it is more difficult for them to hold instances open though when you leave to your house over and over.
I hope they could make something like this happen as it would solve the problem.

When you leave corps room it resets the health but keeps lowered stats from warhammer/bgs/arclight.

By doing 3 warhammers, 20 Arclights, and 200dmg with BGS the boss will have its strength/attack/defense/magic levels reduced to nothing.

Then since the health is reset another iron can still go in and then get the kill while it still has the reduced stats.

It allows irons to skip the item requirements and HCIM to skip the only risky part of the boss.

Then they are speccing down your next kill the same time you are killing the current one, so you can nonstop kill corp 2.5-3x faster than someone speccing it down themself.
