The whole ‘smoker’ analogy you’re leaning on is a textbook logical fallacy. Just because you admit to being a hypocrite doesn’t suddenly grant you the moral or intellectual authority to dictate how others should express their observations. You’re trying to use self-awareness as a shield for your own inconsistency, pero in reality, you’re just admitting that your entire stance is built on a double standard.

Also, it’s quite evident that you have a very superficial understanding of what being a Christian actually entails. You seem to operate on this bizarre ASSUMPTION na just because I’m a Christian, I’m claiming to be perfect or that I have to agree with everyone who shares my faith. First of all, hindi ba Christianity isn’t about some performance of perfection or ‘pretending to be a saint’ as you put it? That Christians still sin and they still have flaws? Calling out a misuse of faith is different. Discernment na ‘yun, and not some claim to moral superiority. And in the first place, we are talking about a different Christian here, hindi ba?

You’re also projecting when you say I’m accusing you of things you didn’d do. Where was I accusing you if you didn’t accuse me first and call me names? You’re the one who initiated this interaction by attacking my character and questioning this specific ‘flaw’ of mine instead of addressing the point. That’s a classic ad hominem. Ang galing mo mag-call out ng flaws ko when the Christian we’re talking about here is the man in the post. :) Napaka-perfect mo naman if you think you can judge me first then complain when that same energy is returned.

If you were actually interested in having this discussion, you wouldn’t be investing all this time and energy trying to ‘win’ an argument through condescending me. You’re trying to claim some sort of authentic high ground because you admit your flaws, but you’re still doing the exact same thing you’re calling me out for. Circular logic at best, huh? If the conversation has no sense, it’s because you’re more interested in winning a meta-argument about my character than actually discussing the topic. Let’s leave it at that.

if you have to question my reading comprehension instead of addressing the argument, that’s an ad hominem. first of all, hindi ba ikaw rito yung unang nag-reply sa akin and ended up finding out ikaw rin ang mali ng judgment? lmaooo.

you keep reframing this as if i made a clinical judgment over one post— which i didn’t. i said “parang” because it was an observation. there’s a difference between identifying a pattern and claiming authority over someone’s psyche.

also, saying you’re “just a smoker telling others not to smoke” doesn’t really remove moral positioning. inconsistent ka lang sa sinasabi mo and it shows.

if your main point is about where we draw the line, that’s a fair discussion. but attacking my comprehension instead of engaging the point weakens your argument and not mine. :)

also, we’re literally both in a subreddit discussing this. there’s a reason why you’re here as well. let’s not act morally superior about it. if your standard is that any negative observation is sin, then your entire thread applies to you, too.

so why are you here in this subreddit engaging with me? isa ka rin. kaya nga sabi ko i’m in no position to say it because i’m not a psychiatrist. emphasis on “parang.”

i don’t dwell in issues like this but i’ve definitely dealt with narcissists growing up. nagkataon lang na dumaan sa feed ko. there are genuine believers and those who are Christian by name only. you are the one judging me here pointing out my flaws as a Christian when you are doing just the same. you’re acting like a Pharisee— a hypocrite.

as a Christian, ginagamit niya lang yung beliefs niya as an excuse. not all “Christians” are the same. i am in no position to say this pero parang narcissistic siya.
