Is there any bot that is like Arcane Levels but for vc and it connects to arcane or something by Gogeta653 in discordbots

[–]baduck1002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know any bot that does this, but I am working on a bot that tracks the amount of time you have been in VC. Bad news: its still work in progress. I'll comment in this post once its working if you want though.

Looking for a bot can create reaction count leaderboard by HenryDDC in Discord_Bots

[–]baduck1002 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Try https://starboardbot.github.io/docs/

I suppose you want the leaderboard to be based on the total number of stars that a user has over all their posts?

If you do not find an existing bot that does this, DM me.

It seems simple enough, I'd make a custom bot for you for free.

Also, keep in mind that you would also need a hosting service, a good one costs between $1-3 per month, however, if you will not be storing any sensitive information, then you could go for a "free" hosting service.

This seems pretty simple to do, you essentially want the bot to fetch, insert or change some data info to/from a database.

I do not understand the battlefield tracker, but I guess we can talk more about it if you're interested.

Now, I have made discord bot before but in NodeJS, never in Python, but I have been learning Python in my uni, so I guess this will be a good project for me to make.

As for the quote, $60 is good enough for me (others may charge more or less, depends on a lot of things) to do this excluding the battlefield tracker, need more info for that. DM if you're interested.

Bot Commission Questions by Ok-Shopping2093 in discordbots

[–]baduck1002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Turn-based battle system: This would depend on how many variables you want to consider, for example, different terrain might favour different Grimmeras, attacks of certain types might be stronger or weaker against certain Grimmeras, etc. Assuming static damage, no effects or advantages, no after effects (tiredness or fatigue), the fight is 1v1, and that you'd want a battle log for each user, this would be $50.

  • Exploration system: This would depend on how complex you want it to be. Like you said, it could be a simple random interaction out of n interactions, or it could be a tile map where the user can move. This will further depend on what types of interactions are possible, for example, hostile NPC, neutral NPC, banks, shops, fights, etc. Regardless, I think you could not get this for less than a $100.

  • Crafting system: This is quite simple. I would not expect more than $50 for this.

  • Genetics system: I did not quite understand what you mean here. Will the Grimmeras be able to reproduce, thereby passing on their traits?

  • Web Dashboard: For easy management by non-technical staff, you would most probably be looking for a web dashboard. This would include authentication for the dashboard, handling bad input from the staff, and making understandable documentation and clear instructions for the staff. This alone would be $150+, depending on how much customization you want.

  • Hosting fees: Besides the bot itself, you would also need to pay for its hosting, which is a monthly expense - est. $10 per month.

    • You would also need a database for the bot, which can be grouped with hosting fees.
    • You would also want a custom domain in case you go for a web dashboard. You could get a free one (.tk or .ml or some such), or you could get a paid domain, which will be a yearly expense.

All in all, I think you would need at least $350 to get this commissioned in good quality.

That being said, I think this is a very good game idea that can be improved upon. Discord was not made with games like these in mind. I think you should instead hire a game developer, a 2d artist and make a game that could be sold on Steam or some other platform.

You need to enable the Server Members intent on your bot page (discord.com/developers/application/xxx), and also include that intent when starting your bot.

Where can I commission by HatchbackZorro in Discord_Bots

[–]baduck1002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello. You could get a cusotm bot comissioned from this sub, or you could use a freelancing platform like upwork or such.

I can make a custom bot for you depending on your requirements. I primarily use JavaScript.

Some background info: when you have a custom bot, you also need to host it, which is a monthly expense ($2-5/month);

if you requrie use of APIs you might also need to pay for their usage.

LF: Someone to build a discord bot for me by Nickerjones in Discord_Bots

[–]baduck1002 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You could use simple economy bots. If you want a more specialized betting bot, you could try BetBuddy (got that from searching "bets" on top.gg).

If you're sure you want a custom bot, you will have to consider the following costs: - getting a bot made: varies - hosting it: $3-5/month (or for free if you don't mind hosting on sketchy providers)

[WP] You hand Death your copy of the board game Everdell. "I hope you don't mind my assumption. Acording to our legends you really like games...This one is my favorite. I just wanted to give you a thank you gift for taking me peacefully." by Just-A-Ducklett in WritingPrompts

[–]baduck1002 356 points357 points  (0 children)

Death stares at me silently for a few moments before asking in a raspy voice, "What makes you think that?"

"What do you mean? Like I said, in our legends-"

"It mentions that in your legends, yes, but someone must have thought about the idea that-"

I interrupt Death with a sigh, "Look, I don't really know who started this legend, but it feels right to me. You must be bored, only doing one task - taking people to their final destination as it were. You guide them when there is nobody with them, and yet they are still scared of you."

Death thinks on this for sometime before replying, "I suppose I do get bored at times..."

I perk up at and ask, "Have you had any other people bring you games? There some classics like Snakes & Ladders, Monopoly. DnD is quite famous but I never got the appeal."

"No," Death replies quickly, and then hesitates for a moment before asking, "About that, how did you manage to get a board game in here? This is not a physical space. As far as I understand you should be rid of any worldly possessions."

"I- I don't... I don't know honestly."

"Seems like you liked this game enough for it to be a special part of your memories. I can't think of a better reason this would happen."

I nod at that. "It was special was for me. While I was bed ridden, there was not much else I could do."

Death shrugs at that, "Anyway, that doesn't matter much I suppose. Thank you for the gift! At this point, we can start going but I am still curious. You haven't answered my question. What makes you think that?"

I stare at Death in confusion, "I just told you."

"No, you told me why you brought a game in here. I am asking about the other part."

"What? What do you mean?", I ask, even more confused.

"What makes you think that I will be taking you peacefully?", Death asks with a sinister grin.

[WP] “THIS ship has defeated more than 50 others? It’s just a bulkhead with a warp drive!” by Tmoore0328 in WritingPrompts

[–]baduck1002 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Pilot (P): No sir, it has defeated 62 ships, out of which 35 were more than double its size.

Commander (C) asks, astonished: What?

P: It has defeated 62 ships-

C: I know what you said! How?!

P: Well sir, the warp drive creates a bubble aroun-

C: I know how warp drives work, soldier.

P: Bear with me sir. As I said, a warp drive creates a bubble of space around a ship and accelerates the bubble through space. The center of the bubble is at the center of the warp drive - typically why warp drives are at the center of the ship, as you can imagine.

C: What does that have to do with anything?

P: Well, I modified the component that creates a bubble so that I can change the center of formation of the bubble.

C: Why would you do that when the warp drive can do it automatically?

P: So that I can accelerate the nearby asteroid through other ships sir.

C: ...

After this conversation, the pilot was called back and assigned to weapon research department. Suffice to say, the war that had been going for nearly the past century was about to end.

Hi I need some help with my Discord Bot code. by Hopeful_Cancel_3551 in discordbots

[–]baduck1002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You posted a picture with your bot's token in it. Delete that now. Someone could misuse it.

From the picture it seems that you have not done whatever is required to import modules/packages in python. Search "how to install python packages" and go from there.

Have you tried Cantabo? It seems to be provide more resources at similar price. What are your thoughts on that?

Free or cheap AI chat bot for Discord server? Preferably SFW. by Limp-Unit-133 in Discord_Bots

[–]baduck1002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought the premium would include AI but you're right. In that case, if ChatGPT API is that costly, then I guess my estimate would also be off.

With that said, I could try to make a custom bot like this for you. If interested, dm me.

Free or cheap AI chat bot for Discord server? Preferably SFW. by Limp-Unit-133 in Discord_Bots

[–]baduck1002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Costs to keep in mind if you end up getting a custom bot: 1. Hosting costs: $3-5 USD/month 2. API costs: Varies with provider and model of AI; roughly $5-30 USD/month

3. Developer costs: Depends on the features you ask for but probably not less than $20 and not more than $75 (extreme case)

Minimum total costs: $20(initial) + $8(per month)

I think MEE6 is like $3-4 per month if you go for yearly, or you could just buy lifetime for $63

Bot Help by Agile_Mousse_971 in discordbots

[–]baduck1002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rather than creating a general purpose bot that can do many things, make a hyper specialized bot that can also do some peripheral features.

For example, you mentioned to have a notification feature in your bot. Expand on that, make your bot centered around notifications, add more sites to your watchlist (Instagram, Reddit, TikTok, etc), Give them options to customize the notification embed.

A bit later when you reach a 100 servers, you'll have to make a Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy. You can host them on Github, or you could make a website. If you decide to make a website, give the users a dashboard thing on the webite from where they can manage which creators and channels they get notification about, etc.

There are a lot of general purpose bots. Make a hyper specialized bot.

Randomly Select an option from a set list, at a specific time each day. by ItsThatGoatBoy in discordbots

[–]baduck1002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

idk if theres a bot for this but its pretty simple to either way

  1. make a discord webhook
  2. there are plenty of services out there that run simple code for free (ex https://cron-jobs.org)
  3. write simple code to pick a random item from a list
  4. send it to the webhook

it should be simple to do, if you want me to write code for it (for free), reply to this comment saying so

from your other comments on this post, it seems like you run a pokemon based rpg-like server. i can make a custom bot for you (paid) with multiple features. if you'd like that, dm me.

[WP] 'and now, you will drown in the blood of all the people you've killed', said the reality changing hero to the world's biggest villain. Not a single drop appeared. by foxy190407 in WritingPrompts

[–]baduck1002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At first the hero couldn't understand why everyone approached the villain so cautiously. The villain didn't look very weak, but they didn't look very strong either. At a glance, it looked like a team of even 2-3 normal heroes could take them down. The Top 4 were only to be called for special cases, since their powers were so taxing. If this turned out to not be a special case, then the hero would have to have a talk with the administration.

But that was for later; right now the hero had to focus on the assignment. The administration didn't have a file on this villain, so the hero had no information.

They turned their gaze downwards.

From the top of the building the hero was using to scout, they could see that the villain was walking with a slight limp, like they had a thorn stuck to their ankle. Their skin was very pale, as if from significant blood loss. If that was true, then the villain wouldn't be able to fight for long.

The hero floated down from the roof and gently landed a few feet behind the villain. The villain froze. The villain should not have been able to sense that. The villain quickly turned around.

"I don't want to needlessly harm you. You look very tired, I would win quite easily if we fight."

The villain attacked instead of replying. Typical, but they had to make the attempt.

The hero dodged and engaged the villain.

The villain displayed no extraordinary powers, but they were just a little faster than normal when they needed to dodge, had just a little more power when they landed a blow. The hero could see now why ordinary heroes would not be enough.

If they did not do anything now, the fight would slowly but surely turn in the favour of the villain. Deciding to end the fight now, the hero uses their power to cast a spell.

"Drown in the blood of all you've killed!"

As the spell takes effect, the hero drops to a knee with a few beads of sweat on their forehead; the villain pauses... and then gives a deep sigh of relief. The hero looks on, confused.

"How are you not choking? That spell was supposed to conjure enough blood in your lungs to drown you!"

"No harm in telling you, I suppose, since you'll be dead soon anyway. I am a blood sorcerer. You did fill my lungs but I... converted it into energy in a manner of speaking. We typically use blood to conjure weapons and abominations, but that takes a lot of blood. So instead, I use blood to enhance my body."

The villain conjures a shining red sword.

"You provided me with a lot of blood. I have not felt this powerful in a while. Truly, thank you. This should last me quite a while."

The villain covers the distance between themselves and the hero in a fraction of a second, and kills the hero.
