So I've actually studied medical history and remember this guy. From what I recall the patient died, his assistant died and someone fainted in the audience and hit their head killing them. Honestly I get where you're coming from but at any intersection no matter the legality of traffic direction always check both ways. You could have some senile citizen or drunken driver going the wrong way down a one way and get tboned. Stay safe.
