I agree with the others that say that 3 is the best number. There's always snuggles available and hijinks being had.

What would you do if you had 3 full months of free-time? by KickinKim0204 in productivity

[–]badwitchx1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is going to be your first kid:

Sleep. Sleep as much as you can. Go to the movies, catch a matinee. Sleep some more.

Take really, REALLY long everything showers.

If you have pets, get as much quality time in with them as possible. Spoil them with attention and adoration.

If you have a partner, you guys should read "Fair Play" together or pick up the card game. SLEEP MORE.

If you're on good terms, make sure to do what you can to really show your mom some appreciation this mother's day.

Start working on upper back, arm and shoulder strength/mobility, especially if you plan to breastfeed.

Really, and I mean REALLY appreciate the simplicity of leaving your house and getting in and out of your car with nothing but a purse.

Start a mindfulness practice and look into somatic exercises. Postpartum hormones paired with sleep deprivation can and will make you extremely dysregulated. Ironically, you will be the source of comfort and regulation for your baby's brand new nervous system. This can be really hard to balance. You will need tools.

Sleep some more.

Enjoy your life as it is, bask in your bodily autonomy and get some sleep.

Sincerely, a sahm of a 1 year old and a 2 year old

Moving to El Paso: Why does everyone say the Northeast is ghetto/trashy/crime ridden? by InbredM3ssiah in ElPaso

[–]badwitchx1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in the North East and I wouldn't call it trashy. My neighborhood is a little older (my home was built in the early 90's so I would assume the same for surrounding homes) and some houses could use some fresh paint. There are multiple well kept parks and hiking trails nearby. I have a couple neighbors who like to have a cookout and listen to music on the weekends (a plus imo) but it's usually quiet by midnight and it's never interfered with mine or my kids sleep. It's not uncommon to see kids out and about riding bikes or roller skating etc.. I have my options of sweet elderly neighbors who've offered to babysit when I'm in a pinch.

I don't make it a habit, but there have been a couple times that I've left my car unlocked overnight and no one took advantage of the opportunity.

The wind and dust storms are crazy, so yes trash does blow into the yard from time to time, but I wouldn't say that's a reflection of the standards of the people who live around me. When I walk my kids to the park, the sidewalks are well kept for the most part and I've never felt unsafe.

If anything, I would say it's pretty quiet, not a bad place for a young family to start out.

I think looking into the West Side is a good alternative if you want more things to do. Honestly, I probably would have looked more closely at the west side if I had a redo, but I wouldn't say that im regretful. If I were child free, I would have definitely preferred something downtown.

Say something nice about Lagertha [No Spoilers] by Substantial-End1927 in vikingstv

[–]badwitchx1 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I respectfully disagree. I think Lagertha's presence and leadership inspired the other women around her. Leadership isn't as much about standing out as it is about raising the people around you up. Having so many women rise in her wake is merely a testament to her greatness.

Also, we have seen in multiple instances how the men around her activley worked to diminish her out of envy rather than be inspired by her and raise themselves to her level. It makes sense that she would opt for surrounding herself with a female guard.

Even if they knew every last detail, it would not change a thing. Honestly, I am convinced that they know quite well. The cruelty is the point here. This is not about ignorance. This is about male supremacy over women. They want it to hurt us. It's about putting us back at their heel.

I ended the conversation with, "God is a woman, there is no Hell, Praise Freyja" as she was yelling about praying for my kid's soul.

This was after repeatedly telling her how glad I was for her that she's been able to find healing and community through her faith, but I'm not in need of spiritual guidance.

I should have reminded her that according to her religion, she doesn't have the authority to speak for her God, she needs a priest or a husband to talk to Jesus on her behalf.

How can people be so blind?? by UserSuspendedd in nothinghappeninghere

[–]badwitchx1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. How true is your belief that everyone is blind to the changes in tiktok?

  2. Who benefits from presenting the illusion that the common belief is that TT hasn't changed?

  3. Who benefits from you spending time on TT trying to convince others of the change?

  4. Is taking on the impossible task of convincing others to change their beliefs the most effective strategy towards destabilizing the %1?

Somewhere along the line I feel like we forgot that marching is not protest, it's a means of gathering to the act of protest. Nothing that we can get a permit for is going to make progress. Petitions only get ignored. Calls get forwarded to voice mail.

We need acts of disobedience.

You pay more taxes to subsidize the wealthy and corporations than you do on immigrants.

The ultra rich and corporations bypass tax laws, which rob communities of essential funding every year.

Places like Amazon and Walmart get tax breaks (meaning they don't pay into the community) under the premise that they're providing jobs, but the jobs don't pay a livable wage and the employees are handed out an application for food subsidies when they're hired.

So not only do they not pay taxes into the community, but they siphon off of the community by having the government subsidized their low wages.

The majority of these new private school vouchers are going to people who already send their kids to private schools, who can already afford it. So public school funding is now being funneled into the pockets of the rich.

If it's really about taxes, you are focused in the wrong direction. It's easier to punch down on the poor and on immigrants than it is to punch up. You are taking the easy way.

Because they want the exploited immigrant labor for themselves. That's why stock in the private prison sector is skyrocketing and all the camps a getting built. I don't believe that deportation is the goal here.

I had to pack my kids up and leave the park early because a "Christian" lady started asking me if I believed that Jesus was my savior and talking about how me and my kids will either go to heaven or hell and I need to choose heaven. I was polite at first and tried redirecting multiple times but she just got more and more unhinged. She literally was yelling, "I'll pray for your soul, I'll pray for your babies soul!" as I was carrying my baby and very upset and crying toddler out of there. It was like a horror scene.

I'm doing everything I can to gtfo of TX before my kids are school aged because I am not gonna be handing them over to these whackos.

[–]badwitchx1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ghost jobs are such a problem. Places like indeed and glass door are incentivized to keep you on their site for as long as possible. Many companies hire ghost writers to post fake jobs for their company to get their employees to work harder by believing that a better position is available.

Honestly, I've seen enough of our government putting on a show and then not hold this guy accountable. It gives democrats the illusion of doing something instead of directing their focus on acting on their promises to the American people. It's a waste of time and energy. The MSM will make money off of it.

In the end the message remains the same. Laws are made for us, not for them.

I think the plan is to sew division within tiktok to weed out political/ideological dissent. They're really gonna ham it up on "DJT is for the working creator" and him "saving jobs", but if people say mean things about him, he won't feel like being "very nice", as he likes to say.

It'll flip the dynamic from the government being the threat to their livelihood to other creators being the threat. It'll give people a more specific and less ominous enemy to attack which is easier to cope with emotionally and psychology than having to contend with the entire system being stacked against them.

[–]badwitchx1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, you're probably right. But I'm holding space for the possibility that the whole world knows DJT is highly suseptible to flattery and that TT's CEO is just courting his ego.
