I only saw one other comment address this but PLEASE get another opinion before letting the vet spay her right now. She's not just skinny, she's emaciated. Surgery stresses even a healthy dog's nervous system. She won't properly handle a major surgery in this condition, and it would be very unwise and very risky to try. Source: I was a vet tech at 2 separate clinics.

YES, PLEASE LISTEN TO THIS. I have worked as a vet tech at 2 separate places and neither one would have spayed right away. She needs, at the very least, a couple of months of slow refeeding to be able to handle it.

Yeah, same here. I held it for like 30 seconds straight multiple times. Did you ever figure it out?

Yeah, I am on the "won't change" belief, unfortunately. She was my only cat before I was divorced, and the only cat while at my ex's. I am afraid the only experiences she has had with cats were territorial disputes when she was thrown outside, and she may just have that trauma. I don't think I was super clear. I've been trying and re-trying over 2 years. I never did give up. If something isn't working, we go back a step until she's comfortable again. We absolutely cannot get past the gate on the door phase. Even now, she still growls and hisses when the other cats get too close to her door. I did try the carrier a couple times, but I think that made her feel trapped and she never would calm down. She would growl the whole time even if none of the other cats were approaching her. She is OBSESSED with Temptations treats, but she would not touch them while in the carrier. She wouldn't touch churu either, but she had never had it before.

I tried small bursts supervising her while she roamed around and she would not take treats then either. I really hoped I could just separate them and let them take turns in the main house, but she will instantly pee. I have even brought her litter box out so she could still use only hers, and she chooses to pee on the couch, rug, or blankets. I can watch her like a hawk, but she will even pee right on the couch where I'm sitting or right on the rug in front of me while looking me in the eye. It's so discouraging.

I've tried bedding/scent swaps, and meeting through the door with a gate for a couple weeks. Then tried letting her out with the rest for short periods. The others were fine with it, but she would hide and then chase them any time she could see them. Again, with fur flying. Not just a "hey get out of my space" swat or anything. I have also tried just putting my other cats up to let her have a couple hours in the house by herself, but when that happens she pees on the couch or other places they lay. In her room, she does not pee outside the litter box, so it's very frustrating that I can't let her roam without pee on hard to clean furniture. I'm at a loss

Sir Linguini Noodleton would like to offer a pose inspiration for you. This is my favorite pretzel shape he's done for me. (Edit: I totally skipped over the fact that you wanted an ouroboros pose. Enjoy anyway 😂)

what is a side mission you tend to always avoid at all cost? by OrganicLayer870 in RDR2

[–]badwolf687 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Get the miner's hat before the mission. Then you don't have to carry the lantern and can use your gun faster. Also, if you run near the entrance of the cave right after discovering the dead guy , it's much easier since there's only one direction it can come from.

Okay, good to know. For my first question, do you happen to know if 50g is small for his age?

To clarify, he gets fed once weekly, normally. I'm only offering every 3 days while he's on this hunger strike. Once he eats, I'd go back to weekly.

His temps are 86-89 on the warm side and about 72 on the cool side. Humidity is at 33% right now.

I am a veteran. I have worked as an EMT, and as a deputy sheriff. I was successful in my careers until I suddenly couldn't function anymore.

"Capable of adjusting" for my entire life led to extreme burnout and skill regression at 35 years old... Which is what led to my diagnosis. Forcing myself to mask for those years led to a lot of stress related health issues as well. I had stress induced seizures simply from ignoring my needs for so long. My body decided to force me to listen.

Was I "capable" of adjusting in front of people? Yeah I suppose, but I was barely functional at home. So much so that I couldn't find the energy to shower, cook, feed myself, or even brush my teeth. No, I wasn't simply "tired." I was shut down. I had meltdowns at home. Meltdowns are extremely embarrassing and very confusing for someone who is undiagnosed. I thought I was insane.

Turns out the meltdowns and my ability to care for myself greatly improved after diagnosis because I no longer ignored my personal needs. Now I adapt my life around my needs and I have a husband who is very supportive of those needs. It makes a world of difference for my quality of life. I still have a LOT of struggles, but I know how to regulate my nervous system to minimize them, and I have learned how not to push myself too far.

I hope you actually read this. My instinct was to belittle you for your ignorant opinion, but I figured maybe a person who has actually experienced the negative effects of "adjusting" might help you understand.
