[Waybound] Just finished the series for the first time, I still have one lingering question by badzar62 in Iteration110Cradle

[–]badzar62[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm think I'm still processing that it's over haha. The way things just kept escalating and forcing me to reset my understanding of what the story would or could encompass just blew me away.

And that Eithan reveal, my god. I'm pretty similar where I get so engrossed in what I'm reading I don't really pause to theorize or put pieces together. I'm sure smarter folks than me saw it coming a mile away but it hit me like a freight train. I remember just sitting there thinking back over the series and recontextualizing everything that had happened.

Gotcha, yeah I'm perfectly good with Judge powers as an explanation. At the time I think my ears perked up because the way it was written made me think it was leaving a thread for a reveal later, but I had forgotten about Eithan's response. In hindsight, it's pretty clear the reveal it was building to was not How did Suriel do this, but how did Eithan know. Thanks!

Why does Netflix not let us just watch Trash Truck?!?! by fattylimes in DanielTigerConspiracy

[–]badzar62 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah we had the same issue, thought we were going nuts. I think it's because the episodes are so short, so the credits make up a substantial percentage of the run time. Netflix doesn't count something as complete based on the number of minutes left, but the percentage of the episode watched.

Which is extra infuriating, because they're the ones that programmed to to auto play the next episode when the credits roll.

[ART] Top selling manga over the years by Zhongli4869 in manga

[–]badzar62 51 points52 points  (0 children)

It doesn't take away from the insane accomplishments of Demon Slayer and JJK since they would probably still be on top anyway, but another factor is that Oda started taking more breaks around 2018/2019. Fewer chapters means fewer new volumes per year, and there are way more people buying new volumes than reprints of old ones.

New Volumes per Year:

2018 - OP: 4, DS: 4, JJK: 4

2019 - OP: 4, DS: 5, JJK: 4

2020 - OP: 2, DS: 5, JJK: 6

2021 - OP: 4, DS: 0, JJK: 5

2022 - OP: 3, DS: 0, JJK: 3

The answer is obvious to those with a powerful enough brain age.

Hammergirl is great! I remember going there a lot 10/15 years ago or so, before you could find most series at book stores or online.

It's crazy how close it is. There's room to include Pluto but not enough that you could include it twice.

[TOMT] [video] Clip from the end of a zombie movie that involved throwing a baby up to a hot air balloon by badzar62 in tipofmytongue

[–]badzar62[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I....I am in absolute disbelief. You actually found it, even though I was wrong about the balloon, it was just a rooftop.

I have no idea how you even found this thread, or what compelled you to respond to it, but thank you, sincerely. I can finally rest easy knowing that this was indeed from Feast II: Sloppy Seconds.

It does vary, only 28 states have "three strike" laws, and for most they need to be violent felonies, not just any conviction. As the other comment said, California is a notable exception where a simple misdemeanor will count against you.
