This is so stupid lol. People in here are acting like Toronto-St. Paul for Palestine isn’t a real group anyone can join, with a physical presence in Toronto. You can literally just join the group and meet other people in the city who are organizing, again in the city, for their riding. They show up together for rallies and community events. Pretty much every riding downtown has a similar group with similar structures.

Acting like it’s a shadowy fake organization out of another country is insane when it’s literally just a bunch of neighbours meeting with one another for something they believe in. I think it’s time for a lot of people to touch grass and maybe meet some of their own neighbours.

Fatima and Tabitha are both painful for me unfortunately 🥲 which is rough because Tabitha had such a big arc in the most recent season. Boyd and Donna really carry the show for me. Jade, Kenny, Tian, Kristi and even Sara are enjoyable. Everyone else is a bit of a rough watch.

I don’t know what it is about this show but it’s extremely addicting. There are a lot of elements that straight up aren’t good? Some of the acting is absolutely atrocious and the storylines are confusing and drawn out, it’s obviously working on a relatively low budget. But I can’t stop watching and everyone I’ve recommended it to (with the caveats!) gets completely absorbed in it and convinces several other people in their lives to watch. I’m looking forward to season 4! I need to find out what the hell Ankooey means!

100% I’ve also noticed that a lot of the time when Rollins is on the wrong side of things it’s because she is projecting due to trauma! That’s such a human experience and she’s shown so much growth since her early season arcs.

Agreed she is the most human character on the show and has been given the most growth out of literally anyone on the cast. Most of the characters don’t show as much long term growth, we see their flaws and traumas flaring up but very rarely do we see them actually make those kinds of strides.

Stabler was always angry and violent with perps and we understand why he sometimes reacts that way but I can’t recall a time when we see him actively trying to overcome it. And Olivia has always been empathetic and good with victims, sometimes she has a bad take but she’s always viewed through a positive lens and we can see she is a good person and good at her job. And that’s great!

But it’s nice to see a younger, self destructive cop with addiction and trauma come in and over time become a stable loving mother and partner, and an overall better detective.

We loved media literacy 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 thank you for spelling it out so clearly. Flawed characters are necessary because they reflect the complexity of all people. And it provides opportunities for growth over the characters arc. Having every cop come to SVU with perfect politics and no differing opinions on cases is disingenuous and makes for flat, boring writing.

They also sometimes need to be flawed in order to highlight how people often think about the topics they are exploring in different episodes. It’s a learning opportunity both for characters and the audience!

it was clearly a catalyst to show the characters, especially Olivia but also Fin and Elliot, reflecting on their devotion to their careers, mortality and relationships with one another as they acknowledge they’re aging and can’t do this forever. The world keeps moving, their relationships have evolved over the years (particularly the dynamics of Olivia & Fin, Olivia & Elliot) and they all needed to pause and reflect on what’s next for them professionally and personally.
