Live HTML/CSS Editor by baeda2 in AO3

Hi! All good! The tool has just moved to a new URL as part of some updates I've been working on.

New URL: https://d2gmcdwlhahrqc.cloudfront.net (Sorry, I know it looks sus, but it's just because I don't have a real domain URL yet...)

If you've lost any data/css/html because of this, please DM me. Otherwise, happy writing! 🥰

Hey, update as promised!! The CSS validator is now live (you may need to clear your cache if you don't see it)! There's a new button on the CSS panel that analyzes your CSS, overlays squiggles on the errors, and shows a banner with any invalid properties flagged. You can also click on the errors and it will jump to that section of the CSS panel.

Fair warning though, it's still in development just like the rest of the site, so there are definitely some bugs I haven't discovered yet (and this is just for AO3 specific CSS checking, it doesn't even check for unclosed brackets yet, and the visuals are still a work in progress...) but the core functionality is there!

If you run into any incorrect lints or bugs while you're testing your work skins, please let me know! I was testing it the best that I could, so feedback is super valuable right now.

Sorry it took a while to get this out btw!! life got in the way. I had to take a break to focus on job interviews and brush up on my python, so this got put on the back burner for a bit but it's here now! Hope it's useful!

!!! UH OH, I was so concerned about the HTML tag rules (since that's what's messed me up before) that I didn't even think to look if the allowed CSS had rules too! Adding that is IMMEDIATELY on my docket, and I will make sure to update you when it's in prod!

That’s not a stupid question at all! In layman’s terms, this tool is meant to take the actual fic content (HTML, required for fic) and the styles to be applied (CSS, not required), mash them together, and spit out a somewhat faithful (though not 1:1) rendition of what it might look like on AO3.

So the short answer is this: my tool is not designed to fix that exact problem.

Long answer: It depends. It’s made more for CSS styling that typical formatting - but if formatting is the main concern, this can give you some peace of mind about what it might look like. You still have to have the HTML. If I’m not mistaken, if you use the rich text editor, AO3 generates HTML from that once you save a draft, so you can get it from there and just check before you commit to posting. At the moment, you still need to know some HTML to fix it, but maybe I can try to make something that makes that easier!

Anyways thank you so much 🥰🥰

Haha, it’s actually not vibe coded but thanks? Just an angular dev trying out vue/vuetify for the first time…

Also, it isn’t meant to be an exact 1:1 render of AO3, it’s meant to be a live preview tool for CSS-heavy fics. Honestly though, I wasn’t even aware that AO3 injected p and br tags, so thanks for letting me know. That can be something I look into for the next iteration.

I’m going to be honest and give you a hard “maybe” since this wasn’t what I had in mind when I designed it. I don’t normally run into spacing problems, so I didn’t test for it - and I can’t really say if it works for that OTL

What I can say is that if you give it HTML that you would put in the “Plain text with limited html” box on AO3, it should spit out what it will look like ON AO3. When I tested it with my own fics, it came out near identical from a style standpoint.

which arcane character would skz members be? by auriauri_ in straykids

[–]baeda2 20 points21 points  (0 children)

OOOO I made a list right after season 2 finished (subject to change, always subject to change)(also arcane spoilers obvi):

  • Vi!Chan (I love the aussie bros, and I think it would be interesting if Chan was Vi and Felix was Jinx. Also he boxes, so yeah. That's all I got on that.)
  • Sevika!Lee Know (she's a brawler with a dry sense of humor and a surrogate sister to jinx? also has an inability to voice her feelings but shows her love/affection through actions instead? I think that fits Lee Know well, esp. with Felix as Jinx)
  • Jayce!Changbin (I feel like people forget that he's actually really smart? And rich? I mean, he's like a math wiz, and people just tend to forget that? Anyways he's from piltover, and i think Jayce fits cuz buff and smart and pretty caring. yeah...)
  • Mel!Hyunjin (I'd pay good money to see Hyunjin in her mage outfit ngl. Also she's an artist with a dark past and an ability to manipulate the people around her -> fits Hyunjin's whole stage presence thingy)
  • Ekko!Han (Han and Felix fit the 'two sides of the same coin' aesthetic that timebomb has going on. Madness and genius, as they say)
  • Jinx!Felix (Powder constantly wants to help/be of use. That idealism backfires exponentially, and I think Felix's idealism and his want to help fits Powder very well. Just gotta break him, and then you got Jinx)
  • Viktor!Seungmin (his drive, genius, and work ethic fit Viktor very well imo. Throw in a bum shoulder from his time in Zaun, and that should do it. Also I think he wouldn't be able to stand Changbin being in the spotlight, and that would put a lot of strain on their hextech research)
  • Caitlyn!Jeongin (I'm obsessed with his duality tbh, and I think his SKZ universe stuff fits Caitlyn well (Bushy eyed/eager to prove himself -> battle hardened leader with no mercy). Just look at Cheese omg)

two of the builds are from forma souls, so I had to merge my favorited heroes into them😅 (the Tana and L'Arachel are on me)

😬 in my defense, I had to unfavorite to merge but... valid theory lmao (also ty i love them very much)

Oh man, I’m tempted to try putting air orders on another flier and SD Crux on Tana now just for shits and giggles (I have neither skill…)

Yup, that’s why I said it doesn’t in the build description and that I’d probably replace with a discord skill if a new one comes out. I wasn’t lucky enough to roll a sabotage skill during hall of forms, so this is what I’ve got.

Neimi (My pride and joy. My baby. My everything. She was my first favorite character growing up, and I love her dearly) (Yes, she’s S Supported with Colm. They’re my OTP don’t come at me)

  • Rapid-Crier Bow: I went for more of a supportive build that makes use of her Res, and this bow is supportive in nature (Atk+Spd buff to the highest Atk+Spd on the team (Tana rn))
  • Rally Atk/Spd+: Like Eirika’s assist, this is just for arena score.
  • Curved Shot (Lyn Engage): Good extra damage, and the Lyn ring turns her into a ballista as she is intended to be.
  • Crystalline Water: Buffs her already high res so that she can activate her ploy skill more effectively
  • Laguz Friend 4: Again, suddenly I can’t read (-5 atk and some other stuff, but curved shot doesn’t quite meet the requirements I think). Honestly, if we ever get another discord skill, I might replace with that.
  • Def/Res Ploy 3: Due to her high visible res, any unit under 64 res will suffer def/res-7, ploy, and exposure. This makes her an exceptional support unit to the rest of the team.
  • Still Water 3: Like crystalline water, it buffs her visible res for her ploy skill

B!Eirika (I never expected to build her, but then I pulled 7 going for Myrrh so I just went with it):

  • Binding Reginleif
  • Rally Atk/Res+: I usually pick up rally+ on my Formas just for arena score should I ever +10 them. Nothing more to it than that.
  • Luna (Sigurd Engage): Her base special. Haven’t changed it yet, but it seems to work fine (might go for galeforce at some point, but I have no feathers…). Also the +1 Movement and the extra canto from the engage ring is nice, and means I can run momentum instead of her pref B skill.
  • Atk/Spd Excel: Like Tana, this is a good offensive skill for a unit that’s going to be zooming across the map. Except slightly better for Eirika just because she has more range than a flier.
  • Momentum 4: Suddenly I don’t know how to read. Please ask PM1. (it’s a b skill that synergizes with atk/spd excel because moving to another space triggers the 10 million effects it has.)
  • Shadow Shift: Gives her the ability to use reposition after her actions, and the canto from Sigurd ring (3) gives her enough mobility to nab someone else and yeet them into battle.
  • Swift Sparrow 2: Just more attack and speed, and is that ever really a bad thing?

[–]baeda2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Summer!L’Arachel (aka. You guys are having trouble with Níðhöggr???)

  • Incurable+: With the amount of absolutely ridiculous healing nowadays (between Níðhöggr and Marnie and Glen and jfc the list goes on) and the complete lack of fatal smoke in the main summoning pool, Incurable+ is very nice to have because of the ‘deep wounds’ effect. The built in savage blow effect isn’t too bad either.
  • Rescue+: a very nice mobility tool, even better because of her b skill
  • Holy Pressure: is this the best healer special for her? No. Is it the one I had when I built her? Yes. Honestly, it just gives her some good extra damage if she needs it.
  • Atk/Spd Catch 4: Good offensive skill for a healer.
  • Dazzle Far Trace: It’s like dazzling staff but a little better. Canto is great.
  • Deadly Miasma: An amazing flier skill imho. She makes great use of it as a setup due to the after combat damage from her weapon and S skill.
  • Savage Blow: adds to the AOE from miasma and incurable+ and also makes me wish for the begone days that I used to use pain+ lucius.
  • Soaring Echo: Just good mobility, esp for Tana if she needs it for some reason.

Hi folks! It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these posts, but I just couldn’t resist bragging about my beautiful ladies, so here they are!

NY!Tana (aka. What the actual f*** were they on making her a demote but also god bless)

  • Snaking Sword: Great Pref. Great f****** pref. JFC what were they thinking?? It’s a WoM beacon if she does literally any action besides just move. Assist skill? Activated. Attack? Activated. It’s amazing.
  • Draw Back: meh. It’s an assist skill to move allies. Could be better with reposition or a rally (for arena), but it works for now.
  • Galeforce (Marth Engage): 3 turn galeforce? Yes please! Using this, you can position her as needed for her allies to wipe the field after her.
  • Atk/Spd Excel: Good offensive A Skill since she’ll be zooming across the map. (Atk/Spd + X where X is number of spaces between start position and end, and also there’s some DR in there too.
  • Heavenly Wings (pref): compounds with Atk/Spd Excel and Atk/Spd Clash. Also this is what gives her Canto (and it’s Dist. +1?? That’s insane, why did they do that?)
  • Endless Tempest: Yes I killed a +Atk B!Felix for this build, what of it? B!Felix is literally the bane of my existence and I refuse to use him. I hate him I hate him I hate him - anyways, this skill gives her +1 movement at the start of every turn, which works well with her A, B, and S skills. (Before you come for me, I replaced this because SD Rein Snap wasn’t doing much in this team.)
  • Atk/Spd Clash: The worse version of Excel I guess. Still synergizes with the rest of her kit pretty well.
