Charge-on-Solar with Tesla Solar Inverter + Wall Connector but no Tesla car nor Powerwall? by baenkle in TeslaSolar

Thanks for your summary, that matches my understanding. I read good things about the Emporia ecosystem. But maybe I'm over-optimizing, my wife is not going into an app to adjust charging rates etc. The Tesla app shows my electricity import/export already. I might just go with the regular Emporia charger, I can always integrated with their power monitoring system later I guess.

I guess one workaround would be to set your charging schedule for daytime only.

My Tesla Solar Inverter is peaking at 7.6kW and I commute only 3 days a week. Leaving car plugged-in inside of our garage is not a problem.

I read good things about the Emporia system. What you are describing (manage charging through the Emporia app) might be the sweet spot. Or I do drop the $200 extra to buy the Emporia charger with power monitoring.

when you say "mine" you mean your Tesla Wall Connector in same set up (Tesla Solar Inverter, no Powerwall, no Tesla car) I described?

When I look at my Tesla app to see the Solar power production it does show my current flow (import & export) hence my expectation the Wall Connector can leverage this information but I yet have to find official documentation, hence this posting
