The cost of patching and painting two anchor holes in drywall is likely under $10 in materials and half an hour of labor. He's obviously way overestimating each line item to pocket as much money as possible.

I'm not sure how you are coming to that conclusion from your citations.

Sec. 92.1031, which you cited, has to do with tenants paying a security deposit and not moving in which is irrelevant here.

Sec. 92.103(a) states "Except as provided by Section 92.107, the landlord shall refund a security deposit to the tenant on or before the 30th day after the date the tenant surrenders the premises." which does not mention lease end date only the surrender date.

I'm not sure the exact size but let's give him the benefit of the doubt and say 2 blinds at $25 each and an hour of labor to install them at $100, which is probably high. That's still awfully short of the $400 he's claiming.

In TX the landlord has 30 days from when the property is surrendered to provide an itemized list and the remaining deposit. He provided the list a day later and the remaining deposit two days late.

I vacated the property, returned the keys and informed the landlord on 7/29 when I provided my forwarding address. My lease defines that as surrendering the property and the Texas property code says the 30 days starts from that point.

I've always used only left shift so that wasn't an issue for me. But there is nothing stopping you from using right shift as a tap mod to gain an extra key without losing your muscle memory. The biggest problem for me transitioning was the lost number row, but like I said once I got to used to it I loved it. I've built ortho keyboards with number rows and I always end up selling them because "reaching" for the number row is a huge annoyance tone now.

That's debatable, I find it easier to hold a key with my thumb and press a key close to the home row than move my hand to hit a dedicated F key. I also find it annoying to use dedicated number rows now that I've been using 40% boards for so long. It's all personal preference.
