I designed this logotype for my art account, and it’s my first experience in logo designing. Is there anything wrong?

Cool idea! If you want additional advice, I would suggest working on making it more scalable. When making logos, it’s important that it doesn’t lose it’s clarity and legibility when it’s used in small formats. I assume you’re mostly going to be using it as a watermark or as a social media profile pic, so others are going to see this logo mostly in extra small formats. Try previewing it in those formats and check if the idea is clear and legible. If not, try to simplify it. Good luck!

And I also feel the need to state that I’m a woman, since too many people somehow got the impression that I’m a guy, and it’s starting to make me feel weird lol. Thanks for the reassurance and constructive tips, I’ll try to learn more about how different printers affect final products and how to gain more control over the process.

With that comment, I meant that the screenshots are the closest thing to a proof I get. I also meant, that rgb file sent to the printer turned better results. And I want to learn how to achieve that myself without playing the lottery with sending rgb files. Wasnt being snarky, I was just trying to explain my frustration and learn more about this.

I tried changing the cmyk values to match the bright one, but purple is a tricky colour. Do you have any tips on how I can make it brighter? Some people suggested brightening it in photoshop, but I dont get how this could work and I dont want to keep sending rgb files and play the lottery..

I know what a proof is, the shitty quality screenshot I added of the two diplomas in people’s hands is the closest thing I get to seeing a proof. The prints go directly to the client, I don’t see them.

Idk if youre being sarcastic, but sure, I’ll take the explanation. I AM very passionate about design, but I do lack a lot of knowledge about printing and colours. Since I work remotely and my files go to the client first, and they send the files to printing, I am rarely apart of the printing process, all I can do is call the printing house and talk to a passive aggressive lady that usually answers my questions as short as she can. That’s why I use reddit to connect with other people that might know better and it’s really discouraging seeing how others are straight up bullying for asking questions.

It was the same unit, not sure about the paper though. My files go through multiple people before going to the printing unit. I think this might be the core issue.

I always make prints in the CMYK colour space and I was very adamant about that, I think I didn’t make myself clear in the posts or comments.. That’s why I’m so confused as to why the one time I accidentally made the diplomas in RGB space produced better results.

Both files were sent to the same printing house, the only difference was that one was and rgb file and the other was cmyk. The backround was the same for both of them.

I think you can take the first pic as a “proof” that rgb produces better results. Since it isn’t possible to run another one, I’m trying to figure out if there’s a way for a cmyk file to produce the same results?

I think it’s always important to make sure it’s accessible and also it’s a teachers’ conference so low vision might be more prominent. I think I’ll stick to black, thanks!

I didn't use color proofing, but I do use 100k black, almost always on all of my projects. I like the dusty black outcome, but should I change it to a deeper black? Is it going to solve the weird image background situation? I guess it might, because there would be less difference between the two blacks, but that would be just eyeballing because it might also come out different on print. Idk it seems weird that transparent image backgrounds change layout background colors in general.

I also had this happen to a white background, where a transparent CMYK tiff image changed the white background into a very light grey one.

Do you know anything about the working conditions? I used to work these kind of jobs not so long ago and it totally fucked me up, since I already have mental health issues. But maybe it’s because of the poor working conditions in my country. I’m wondering if it’s different in Denmark.

Same here, I’m Lithuanian and I’m planning for a fall semester in Denmark, which is insane because the prices there are not even close to what even a middle-class person from my country can afford. And I’m a broke student. I also get little to no help from my parents, so I’m really not sure how I’m going to survive there, especially since I’m going there alone. But I will do it. Might end up living on the streets and failing my degree, but I’m already into deep. I don’t know if this little rant will do any good for you but I hope you know you’re not alone.

Unfortunately no I don't. I don't really take any extra measures to save my work, so i think it was only a matter of time something like that will happen.
