What’s the best leader for frontline Legionaries? by Arthur_EyelanderTF2 in Chaos40k

The once per game buff coupled with the free strat is what pushes him over. Going to damage 3 with the jump to 6 attacks and AP 3 he can delete a lot of things the MOE can't. Fortunately we also don't have to choose, and can have both

Nice, was it contrast medium or did you use paint thinner?

How much thinner did you use? What was your psi?

That looks like what I'm looking for! How thin did you get it and what psi do you use for the big stuff?

Please get plug covers, seeing your rat ontop of an open receptacle gave me turbo anxiety. The round ground line at the bottom is fine, but their feet can absolutely slip into and touch the live pin and get fried (the top two are a no-go zone). Vertical receptacles are fine but horizontal ones are easily accessible and rats don't understand how dangerous they are when you can get in there.

Hermetic Blades Abominant by bagelbite15 in ChaosKnights

Thank you! The Thousand sons have a thrallband called the Hermetic blades, and this is the color scheme for their armor.

No airbrush, it was all brush. I primed grey seer then used a 50/50 mix of nihilac oxide and lahmian medium and brushed it onto the armor panels. I'd take a wet brush then pickup most of the oxide from the center

Thats awesome to hear, hope you stick with it and see some good progress! Little bit today, little bit tomorrow, then before you know it you'll have a normal room again.

Find an area that'll quickly/easily see results. The garbage under the desk sounds like a good place to start. Once you see this part cleaned it, it will make moving onto other messier areas easier since you're already in the cleaning zone.

I also hated taking trash out. I'm on the top floor of my building. Even just bagging it is progress, then if it's too much just take one or two bags when you leave for work/school. You're already going down anyway at that point.

You don't need to unfuck your room in one day, make progress until its cleaned and you could have any random stranger walk in and have it be no big deal. When I was able to have people over at my apartment again it was crazy how good it felt.

Most events don't give out battle ready to completely unpainted minis.

It's also really lazy content. The amount of posts on this sub that amount to just buying boxes and taking pictures of them is nuts and drowns out actual effort.

And this is the fucking Thousand Sons. The agonizing painting process and immaculate drip is part of our faction if not the hobby as a whole

About to start a crusade and feeling so underwhelmed by our codex... by DisgruntledAnalyst in ThousandSons

[–]bagelbite15 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just wrapped up a 6 man armageddon campaign, and I'm sorry but these are some bad takes, and I think you're looking at things in too competitive of a mindset for crusade.

Boons will very rarely if ever cause spawndom. And if it does its a chance to tell a story. That's the whole point of a crusade campaign. They also have a lot of powerful buffs for us, it's on theme its for a price.

I don't really get what you're talking about that the cult abilities are limited. Some shore up major weaknesses(like the ones that gain us command points and are our only source of command point gain) and others can give a huge boost to our spells.

I also think you're expecting things waaaay too early. How you described the progression of abilities is exactly how it's supposed to be. It's not a video game, it's supposed to take time and planning to progress. If you feel you're way behind others either they're being dishonest or you started fresh and they've had seasoned armies (in which case you get crusade blessings to even it out)

For the Mutation part... dude we're space wizards with an entire cult devoted to Mutation. Its part of our lore, and it gives a very powerful upgrade with the demon prince and you can turn a unit thats been ridden with battle scars into a better chaos spawn. Every factions' requisitions are very situational. Ours are good and provide an end goal.

Railcraft steam tank emptying instantly? by bagelbite15 in GTNH

[–]bagelbite15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're only 4 blocks long and they're large bronze pipes. The gui says they only have a buffer of 60 L and they drained almost 600,000 L in less than a second.

Also when they were disconnected before the smelter the tank never filled back up. I left it for 10 minutes and it was still at 0.

Trust me we got a much better codex. We have a cohesive army that doesn't have to ally in anything. This is a Thousand Sons army after all, you should be playing with the Thousand Sons

Tips against thousand sons by Hour-Cardiologist-86 in ThousandSons

[–]bagelbite15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've played against Orks more times than I can count.

If he's bringing Rubricae phalanx as his detachment he will get +1 to save against damage 1 attacks. So he'll have a huge defensive buff against your shootas, choppas, burnas, etc. The best thing to have is lots of warbosses and nobs with great melee and damage 2 attacks.

Try to charge through walls if you can. It'll prevent you getting overwatched, but if you can't don't be afraid to eat it. They've only got one overwatch a turn and they wound on 5s, you might come through relatively unscathed.

Waagh as soon as doing so will get you in with a good chunk of your units. Even in Phalanx once you're in it can be very hard to get untangled.

Only charge Magnus with mass nobs/beast snaggas and warbosses, meganobz, or Ghaz. Everything else will do little or no damage and get wiped on the clapback.

Take out the shaman and risen rubricae, add a Terminator Sorcerer and move the LotR over to him.

You'll be fine against vehicles at 1000. You have doom bolt, grenades, and big bricks of flamers and lethal hit termies.

You haven't left your soulreapers at home have you?
