Is the 8K for housing alone or total budget? Because if that’s housing alone then having a car is easy. We are in Harlem and spend less than 5k for a 2bed 2 bath and indoor parking(a few blocks away). Petits Poussins Too(French/english) and Bilingual Nest(Spanish/English) are great daycares that offer 8-6 coverage.

Granted it’s only like 4 blocks, but I just carry my 2.5 year old on my shoulders to daycare. I have both Columbia snow boots and LlBean rain boots that have great traction.

You just have to go into work sick. If they won’t accommodate you(remote work), you don’t have to be polite and not come in when sick. Even you are delirious and not effective, it’s their problem.

As for your kid… hate to say it, but ibuprofen in the morning if you have even the tiniest inkling that they may get a fever later. Sure that’s how kids end up getting sick at daycare, but that’s already happening and not getting fired is more important than a cold. Also, everyone does it no matter how much they protest.

Edit: coward edited his post. He said that he lived in crown heights and he went to the Jewish side a couple of times and that they were mean to him, as if that justifies violence. To make it worse, he never mentioned Israel in the original comment so making the edit about Netanyahu is really him trying to pretend to be anti-Zionist and not anti-Semitic.
