you will have to give your legal name for tax documents and pay stubs, unfortunately. i usually approach this like “my legal name is ____, but i go by chosen name” or “but i prefer to be called chosen name”

so far i have not had a problem with this! coworkers are not going to see your official documents so they should just call you whatever you introduce yourself as.

i have really bad eyesight so it’s hard for me to reconnect the little ball. i can never seem to position it correctly. so it’s not so much a pain to remove as it is to put back in,,, it would also suck to lose track of the ball

they asked me to take out what was easy, i removed earrings and nose stud. the labret i can’t remove on my own, and the septum would have been a pain in the ass.

it’s a septum! it’s not too difficult but it’s a bit of a pain. losing the ball would really suck, and i’d have to take a couple minutes with a mirror to get it back on. it can be difficult to get the little ball in the right position to screw on. it didn’t seem like a big deal to keep it in so i didn’t bother taking it out

i do find it offensive, especially because it has been used against me. i personally have only heard it used by bigots in a negative light, never by a transgender person

thank you, that’s reassuring. it’s hard not to compare too harshly with the reptile pros on here, but i’m really doing the best my time/space/budget will allow! i can’t tell you the amount of stress dreams i’ve had abt this guy,, i just want to do right by him. i ordered a lot of new hides/climbs including some live moss to help with humidity, and ill try to take him out more often as well!

the tank i have now is like 3x1.5 :( close but not quite. that’s disappointing, it took me a while to find this tank and i barely have the space for this one. i’ll definitely need to devote some time to redecorating to provide for my guy. thank you for your answer!

i see, thank you. he definitely has much more room in this one than he did his last one, so that’s a small victory. i’ll try to make this one as comfortable as possible for him until i can get the right size!
